Good game with dark humor. Gets a little repetitive after awhile and I stopped playing it. You can get it for a good price now and with a second installment coming I hope they take this great idea and improve upon it. Controls can be a little frustrating but overall a good game for your PS3.
Overlord Raising Hell is a good game if you like to command units to do your bidding.In this game you need to reclaim your dark kingdom because your castle has been destroyed by some meddlesome heroes. They killed your predecessor so now you need to take over your kingdom once again. In the beginning of your game you go in search of your different types of minions because they have been scattered over the world. If you are good at strategy games you will re conquer your kingdom in no time but you need to have patience. The game sometimes gets challenging because you will be travelling through large lands and sometimes it seems like a maze. The game gets fun when your minions clash with large groups of enemies. Sometimes your minion horde is totally destroyed then you will find yourself fighting for your life so you should always have your best weapon handy. There are 4 kinds of minions that you can command.- Brown minions are your main fighters and they can take the most damage so you would want to have more of them than any other unit.- Green minions are smelly creatures but they are very sneaky while guarding. They are almost unnoticeable if only they could take a bath so you may not want them to guard against animals. They are also the only unit that can get rid of plants that give off noxious fumes that kill any other minion.- Blue minions can cross water and are the only minions that can any other unit would drown they are very magical and can raise dead minions if you g.
This was a replay for me, i had the original for the x-box360. It still provided me with hours of entertainment. I cant wait until they make an expansion for the second part. A++
I have played and beat the second Overlord twice and to be able to go back and play the first one and get the whole back story is just amazing. Thank you so much its in great condition and works amazingly!
It doesn’t take much imagination to notice a VAST amount of similarities between this game and the LOTR books/movies. If allowed, I would give this game 4.5 stars due to a couple issues I experienced.First off, this game; as mentioned by another review, plays alot like Fable….. right down to decisions affecting your outcome (i.e. how evil you are decides on your spells and upgrades available.) There is alot of humor thrown in, some a little on the adult side. Nothing too bad, but it may be difficult to explain to your child why you are suddenly being called the “Lord of Lust and Lechery”. Game play is solid and engaging and the fact that your minions upgrade themselves with whatever’s lying around makes for some rather entertaining combinations. Graphics are definitely enjoyable to see and frame rates remain high even with a large horde being sent out to attack. The game CAN get a little aggravating at times, the price I am afraid for challenge, but nothing a little patience and practice won’t cure. An overall hugely satisfying game with a definite replay value to it.Now the bad……Occasionally you will find yourself accidently sending your minions to their death swithout meaning to since the camera angles can be a tad akward at times. This also plays in to locking on, which can be sometimes be a pain, especially with large groups of baddies to fight.Flaw two and probably the bigger of the two….. I have occasionally had the game freeze on load screens. This is.

over all this was a fun game to play just to waste time.graphics are a bit cartoonish, and game play can be a bit slow at times but it killed the time. Oh don’t forget the smart mouthed jester some of the things he says are hillarious!
