This is a GREAT old school game. It seems that the best JRPGs only come out on the DS anymore… only complaint is that there are only 2 save spaces… hope you didn’t really want to share… ;)
I’ve actually found this to be among the better RPG’s on the DS!Alright, so it doesn’t have hugely amazing graphics. It doesn’t have animated scenes. What it DOES have:-Cute characters-Hidden items-Turn based play-Riddle-like dungeons (with surprises)-A victorian style/Steam punk theme-An interesting Skill system. One of the things other people have mentioned- Is, yes. You get attacked a lot in dungeons. But that’s pretty normal. I’ve found it on the whole to be fun- and a good way to kill time. It was really worth buying!
I’ve been searching for this game at a reasonable price and you had it for me. Thank you so much, i missed this game, plus I never beat it. Have a wonderful day.
A dual meaning, and one of those meanings is the reason it’s getting blasted unfairly in game reviews across the Interweb. But I digress. If I had to summarize Nostalgia, I would say it would be what you’d end up with if you tried to put the prequel to Skies of Arcadia on the DS. Of course, very few people played the Dreamcast classic, so I’ll try to be as detailed as possible.Nostalgia takes place in an alternate, possibly near future, version of today’s world. You will visit many famous cities, such as London and New York, and landmarks, such as Mt. Fuji and the Easter Islands. Your hero is Edward (Eddie) Brown, the son of Gilbert Brown, a famed adventurer. As the game begins you’ll take brief control of Gilbert who is trying to save a young lady from someone. Peril befalls him and the girl is stranded aboard his airship, which later crash lands. Eddie sets out to become an adventurer, primarily to find out what happened to his father and bring him home. The game being called “Nostalgia” could not be more appropriate. This is as old school as they come. The graphics are reminiscent of Final Fantasy IV on DS, using polygonal 3D drawings. There are no voices, no animated scenes, nothing. It’s as barebones as they come. The battle engine is simplified turn-based – meaning there are no flashy combos to be had here. There are some co-op attacks that you get later, much later. Beyond that it’s as I said…old school. If you don’t like them to be this old school, ski.
Great game with an old school feel similar to Wild Arms
Do a Good job on time
I had a blast playing this game and appreciated how expansive it was and how much playing time it ended up offering me. For fans of turn based, classic RPGs, you should enjoy Nostalgia (perfect title for the story and also the fact that it is old school rpg!). Really enjoyed the duality of improving your characters gear as well as your ship. I didn’t find the air based battles too difficult like some reviewers have complained. Perhaps they’re not using they’re skills properly or improving their ship. Whatever the case, you should enjoy it if you like turn based classic rpgs.
this game is reminisent of the turn based rpgs of yore (hence the name) and is also somewhat underlooked – the plot is intersting and it is great to travel the world in an airship1
I love this game. it is fun. and has funny enemies. Like a killer carrot. this worth what I spent on it.
At first I didn’t think this game looked interesting, but after a while I couldn’t put it down. A rough summary of the game is like Tales of Symphonia and Zelda (at least the wind waker and phantom of the hour glass). There are a few short movies, so you would have to read. And it’s not a quick short game either, so you won’t beat it in one game, so it’s a game that could last.
