What can I say? The graphics were slick, the animation was smooth, and the Freestyle control is off the hook! It doesn’t take long to get the hang of (it only took me about a couple of hours), and it really adds to the game. It only needs a Create-a-team mode like Madden and more players in Street and Practice mode to be a perfect game. It’s still a must buy!
Surprisingly my 4 year olds can play this game and do pretty well. This is of coarse a blessing and a curse. What’s even more interesting is that they can even pull off some dazzling moves and dunks in the process. While the controls for NBA Street would be impossible to pull anything fancy off for them, this game lets them shoot, pass and dunk with just two buttons. NBA 2003 is one of the most arcadey SIM games to come out in some time. If you like to make most of your jump shots and make a regulation lay up into a dunkaholics dream simply by being near the hoop, this game is for you. The ugly: it’s simple offensive minded basketball. Defense clearly is not the name of this game. While it is incredibly fun to block shots in other games, the pacing is so fast with this game that you forget there is ever a need to have defense to make a game feel fun.Bottom line: Is it fun? The most fun basketball sim. Will I keep it? Yes. Is it for kids? If your kids need a hoops game get this one. If you want a more realistic version of the popular street games with picks and rebounds and such, get this one. If you want complete all out control of your players every move and accurate shot percentage look elsewhere.
If you are choosing between NBA 2k3, NBA shootout, and NBA Live, U should choose NBA Live 2003!! I have played all of them, and NBA Live has the best gameplay, graphics, music, and features!! BUY IT NOW!!!
most the people here who say how much better nba2k3 is dont even have both of the games. they are going on reputation. yes in the past the 2k games have been better but not this year. i have both games and live is defenitly the better of the two. the freestyle control is amasing. it adds a whole new dimension to basketball games. you can control which crossover you do or where your arm goes when you attempt a steal. last year’s 2k game was better than this years. this year the passes are all lobs and the d has plenty of time to react to all of them. dont get me wrong 2k3 is still a great game but when you have two great games to chose from you look at things like these to decide which one is for you, and this year its live.
Lace up those sneakers and grab your favorite jersey, sports fans, because EA Sports has brought us a basketball game fit for kings of the court. NBA Live 2003 not only introduces a super sweet freestyle control but the ability to play the game online . . . oh the game is definitely on, basketball gamers.First off, the playing modes are plentiful: Play Now, Exhibition Game, Season, Franchise, Playoffs and One-on-One. Play Now is a quick game while Exhibition Game adds a more customizable game. Season takes gamers through a full NBA season using their favorite teams while Playoffs takes you straight to the most exciting part of the season. The Franchise mode offers ten seasons complete with NBA drafts, salary caps and control of your team as a General Manager–it’s not as in-depth as the one seen in Sega Sports NBA 2K3 but it’s still a great mode. And One-on-One takes the game to an urban, beach or gym setting. The controls were thoughtfully kept simple and easy to memorize for one specific reason: to allow gamers to focus on the new EA Sports Freestyle Control function. Now with the right analog stick your player fluidly executes crossovers, triple threats or defensive moves anyway you see fit. While playing defense, moving the right analog stick up makes your player throw his arms up to block a shot or cover your opponent’s line of sight. While playing offense, you can lean to the side while you dribble to block off an opponent trying to swat the ball away from you..
Its has everything. It has better graphics then all of the baketball games on all systems. It has an awsome franchize. It also has a pratice mode wich most games dont have. I think this game is going to the best game of the year.
I bought NBA Live 2002 and I was really disappointed with it. When playing the computer, they would always get an offensive rebound and it just wasn’t too realistic. I ended up buying NBA Live 2003 and hoping it made some improvement and I wasn’t disappointed. Everything is just like you are watching the game on TV. All of the new updated rosters and team names. The franchise mode is great and you can play one on one with your two favorite players. The only thing that was the same as NBA Live 2002 that I didn’t like was the fact that the rookie mode is too easy and the all-star mode is too hard. Maybe they will fix it next year.
Excellent basketball game. They have improved the AI slightly and the games are really fun to play. This game is a must have if you own the Network adapter. On line play with this game is easy to set up and run. Play at any hour and find someone to play with ya. Great part is for the fan who loves a competitive game and beats the AI all of the time, it’s fun to face someone online with the same skills. I have played NBA 2k3 and there is a little too many bugs for my liking with that game in comparison. I’d give 2k3 4.5 stars and Live 5 stars. I’d rent first before choosing what you like better but I found there was too many open layups that were just missed.
I like this game alot and i don’t know how to buy it off aol.
This game is so much better than 2k3. That 12 year old kid is wrong. 2k3 is so dumb! The passing stinks in 2k3. The freestyle control is just sick in Live 2003! In 2k3 players have generic shoes, so if you are the home team you have white shoes and away you have black. In Live 2003 every player has awesome looking shoes. They all have different pairs. If you want the best basketball game EVER get Live 2003.
