I’m not a real huge basketball fan, but for as cheap as this game was I thought I would give it a chance! I really like the game play and all the slow motion dunks the game has. The 1-on-1 Michael Jordan exhibition is really fun to play. For the price I don’t see why you wouldn’t check this game out!
NBA Live 2000 was one of the first games to have realistic players’ faces that don’t look like the faces were postage stamps pasted on heads. Although some are hit-and-go (Ewing looks like an Ewok), others are alright. EA Sports has tried to make the gameplay and graphics as realistic as possible with the ageing Playstation technology.Players’ movements are realistic, and many moves are executable, although a delay between the time the button is pressed and the move is executed is noticeable. Your player can execute stutter steps, spin moves, alley oops, box outs, post ups, steals, etc. You can call plays like high posts, low posts, pick and rolls, etc. The crowd gets into the game with cheers and jeers, but look like cardboard cutouts from up close. The players get into the celebrations after a big jam, but you can turn off the option to speed up the game. The Dual-Shock vibration feature lets you know just how going up against Shaq will feel.NBA Live 2000 is an enjoyable game. The variable difficulty settings allow a spectrum of users–from beginners to experts–to play the game. The one-on-one feature allows you to go up against His Airness, MJ. Playing the game through to the playoffs will unlock some legends, like Wilt Chamberlain, you can use in your team. This game is alright but once again, EASports has yet to animate the crowd or add ref’s to the game, not even the players on the bench move, there are no player introductions like Fox’s Interactive NBA 2000, but overall it is a fun game, I do like the one player mode where you choose any player in the NBA to play aginst one another(from any decade), for example you can have Wilt Chamberlain play one on against Shaq. I recommend it to any pro hoops fan.
NBA Live 2000 is just one of the many EA Sports games that just blows away all other games like it. This game has it all.The graphics are totally amazing in this game, and the sound is excellent. There are many different modes to play in, and each one offers you something different, making NBA Live 2000 one complete game.Being able to play with the legends is a really nice touch, and of course, the addition of Michael Jordan is huge. And, don’t forget about all of the statistics. This is, by far, the best basketball game on the market. Not to steal any catch-phrases or anything, but NBA Live 2000 is FANtastic.

I’ve been missing 3 of NBA LIVE games to complete my collection NBA LIVE. Beside of that unicorn EA game ( NBA Elite 11 ) I had like this game from day 1, but for strange reason. I had traded this game back in the day, but IT”S BACK!!!!

NBA Live had some really good qualities for games like this for its time; Post-up moves, dunks, dribbling. I wish they’d stop applying auto-subs for my teams every game.
