Very good, is a big quality
I bought this game for my 12 year old grandson he plays a few times a week he said it is a very good game graphics look real good also a fun game to own.
Now 2K8 by far is a great game not a question, once you have figured out the new post moves button you are on your way. The problem I have is that when you hit the select button to intentionally foul a player they will grab you and no foul is called. So that is not good especially if you are winning if the team is tryin to foul you to put you on the line. Go head try it I did it like 15 times in a row just to see, its a turnover if you don’t get the ball. If there is some way to fix this problem please comment and let me know, that kills a game in the closing seconds if its close. Im really upset about that.
This years version of NBA 2K is definitely a step above any basketball game that has been released to date. The juke system while not as innovative as Live is still easy to use for beginners and has the level of complexity to keep gamers digging for extra moves. There are a bevy of moves at your disposal, some can be triggered by holding R Trigger down and doing motions with the left stick. Some require holding both triggers down and doing certain motions on the left stick to achieve certain moves. Once you find out how to do the moves, you’ll be breaking down defenses in no time. The post system also has nice level of depth. Spin moves, pump fakes, baby hooks, fadeaways and more are all at your disposal. Also this years version of 2K seems to have more emphasis on big men and the post game. It seems like in previous years, if you had a KG or Duncan they could be easily locked down and essentially become a non factor. In this years 2K feeding these guys on the blocks reaps high rewards since now they play like they would in real life. KG will hit the fadeaway 15 footer and Duncan will pop hooks and banks all day on whoever is guarding him. The AI in 2K is also phenomenal. This is by far the best AI yet in any basketball game ever made. The defenses play smarter, not allowing you to continually take the ball to the hoop. You will see the defense collapse on a player who has gotten to the hoop with the ball. Also they will rotate better if a man is left open. On offen.
In the last review I was overly harsh on the game! In this review I give it more credit for being great. It’s definitely better than 2k7, but I could not find a dribble move button to shake defenders which makes it difficult to make shots and drive to the lane without being called for a charge. The rest of the game is great with a few small complaints here and there but nothing significant to not recommend it to other gamers. With all that has been said it is a great game worthy of buying until 2k9 gets released in the fall.

NBA2K has been, is, and will be the dominant basketball video game. No question about it. it takes all the positives and adds and improves with each release. An amazing game.It dominates two sub genres. It is, without a doubt, the best and most fun basketball game to play on any platform, ever. It is also the only true simulation that offers what really amounts to Role-Playing elements to the management of the team and franchise/career mode. You are the coach, the GM, and the owner.Makes the EA sports game just look silly in comparison. If you are getting a basketball game, its not a decision that should take more than a millisecond. Get NBA2K.
This game is fun and a classic. Great graphics and has some of the old star NBA players. Was very affordable as well.

I enjoyed 2K7 very much and 2K8 was definitely on my short list of 360 games I would get. For the most part NBA 2K8 does not disappoint, but other than graphic improvements, I really don’t a drastic improvement over 2K7. This is not to say 2K8 is a let down, because its not. NBA 2K7 was already a solid game, so 2K8 would be hard pressed to improve on it drastically given only a year to do so.Graphically the game looks impressive and I do notice improvements over the 2K7 installment. I have also noticed that 2K has fixed some of the details, like the baseline of the Spurs’ court now says “San Antonio Spurs Basketball” instead of “Spurs Basketball San Antonio”. In addition I see that the Cavaliers’ court is now has the correct colors and layout; however now the Blazers’ court is wrong. I guess they will never be 100% accurate and while it doesn’t affect game play I still find it annoying. I would think if a company is going to take all that time into making a game based off of real teams and players, the LEAST they could do is get the colors right. But oh well. In addition I have noticed that many player models have been redone, some for the better, others for the worse. Matt Harpring and Andre Kirelinko are two players off the top of my head that have taken a turn for the worse. Yao Ming on the other hand looks better than he did last year. There are also more alternate uniform choices this year and you don’t have to enter annoying codes to get them. The game play is.
