I purchased this game for my kids. I never understood why they like it so much until I started to play it with them. It’s a very addicting game where you search for resources to build shelter, to eat, to hunt and to explore. Every new world you create is different. Graphics could be better but it’s a great game. I only have two controllers so we play multiplayer using split screen. You can choose vertices or horizontal split screen. You can also play multiplayer through the internet.
My 7 year old son LOVES Minecraft and he now has me playing it with him – I have to admit I never understood the popularity but it is actually alot of fun and I am in my mid thirties. I heard the top 3 inventors behind this game left the company they founded when it was purchased (by Microsoft or Google can’t remember which one) but I hope the work on the game continues and it gets expended along the lines that made it as ood as it is today. Very clever!
I am writing this review for my daughter who bought it. The price point was pretty good ($20) and she had been wanting this game for a while. She saved up her allowance and she went for it. She has practiced and played enough where I am thoroughly impressed with her creations. Sh.e is 10 years old and she has given me an interest in this game as well. This game is something that could help spark some creativity in your children watching them create awesome diagrams and worlds right in front of you. Who knows, perhaps she will have a new interest in design and desire to be an architect one day. Her words, "I like it because you can make your own world and do just about anything in it that you want to do".
I ordered this on the PS3 because it’s the game console I have and I wanted to play Minecraft, and my computer wouldn’t cut it. Overall Minecraft is a charming, and addicting little game. It revolves around you being put into a world to mine for materials. You need materials to build a house to protect yourself when the monsters come out at night. Once you’ve built the house, you need more materials to furnish it, and to rebuild your tools. Going out into the world to mine fore ore is strangely fun, especially if you can manage to find someone to join you in the co-op mode, and yes, it has local split screen co-op.As for the physical game itself, it arrived with no damage and loaded up just fine. It also follows the new trend of not coming with an instruction booklet, but the case itself has some cool artwork. If you’re a console person like me, I’d recommend this game, as it is very fun and offers hours of enjoyment.
This is a fun game for both me and my kids. I could play for hours if I wasn’t a stinking adult with responsibilities. My 7 year old son is like a Minecraft guru and he’s noted that there are a lot of differences between this version and the PC version. The PC version has extra blocks and can have hacks added. It’s also a lot easier to join a online multiplayer game with PC. In the PS3 version you have to invite a friend or get invited by a friend to play together. All in all the PS3 game is better for us because we can do split screen together.
My daughters love this game got it for my oldest daughter and she absolutely loves this game thank you
Well, I bought this for my daughter because she played the tablet version. She had no clue how to play it, so we went to YuoTube, lol.She also insisted that I play with her.I’m 44 at the time of this review, and from the age of the Atari 2600 to my late 20’s I was a heavy gamer. Then in my 30’s I grew up, lol.Let me say this though. After spending about 10 hours by myself and familiarizing myself with this game and showing my daughter some tips and tricks, we have fell in love with this game.Simple, yet addicting, lol. Now, I’m having to limit both of us from vegging to much on this dang game.If you’re into this type of time burning game play, you won’t be disappointed.
We bought this video for Christmas and are not disappointed. The graphics are awesome, the dialogue is fun, and it’s easy enough for an eight year old to figure out. My son has been asking for it for months. The controls are self explanatory and there are so many levels we have yet to beat the game. It arrived at lightning speed with retrolio Prime and was packaged well. I highly recommend this game if you’re a fan of the Sims or similar games.
I don’t understand the draw to this game, but whatever. It keeps the kids quiet (except when someone screeches that so-and-so blew up [insert random thing] and I want to run away). We also have an online account for the PC. You’d think that would keep them from fighting over Minecraft, but it doesn’t.This is the game that could probably destroy families.I personally like to play in creative mode, but I’m told this isn’t really playing… oh well.
This game has been a hit for my grandson. He loves Minecraft. I purchased because we have slow satellite service here, so gaming online is not a lot of fun. He would be glued to this game if allowed. It’s a great game for someone who likes to build, collect, create…as well as teaching fundamentals like finding food for energy and survival, needing light for dark places, mining coal to make a torch for light… I’d highly recommend this game. (So does my grandson.)
