being that huge nascar fan I am..I absolutely love this game. I have all the nascar games, including the bug filled nascar 11. whether your a true nascar fan, or just a gamer looking for a nascar sim, people shoot this game down, but its fun. Only downfall to it, is when your on easy, your on the track for half the race by yourself unless ur short track racing of course. If you find this game too easy on easy, do what I do…skip qualifying and start in 43rd.
The fun will never stop, this is a good game, compared to last year, thats why i give it a 5. There is Drafting in the game dont listen to STUPE up there, he dont know how to play. they acually get you into the truck series and the nationwide series mode before internationals, it is awsome.. I see all the tracks are here except for the no point tracks thats 2 tracks, i forget what they were japan and mexico i think. SO WHAT!!!! The graphics coulda been nicer, and the sound is off key, it sounds like my tracktor when i go out to mow the lawn, but hey, they have to start somewhere considering last years was a big let down…
Of course it’s obsolete now that the new (VERY BUGGY version has come out, but it was a fantastic game!! Hubby played it constantly; great for playing online!Buy THIS version if you do NOT play online. It’s much better than the new version, which is really full of bugs.Buy the NEW 2014 version if you DO play online… cuz everyone on the online circuit has moved to the 2014 game.

Well I was waiting for this years installment to come out to write a NASCAR review, but that’s not going to happen any time soon. This game was a must buy for me because I buy it every year. NASCAR 08 was terrible in my opinion and I hoped that EA would change their way of thinking this year. By far this game exceeds the previous installment. The actual racing is nicely refined, giving veterans of the series a more challenging experience while still giving the rookie a chance. There is an opening race where you set up your skill level, actually the game provides its estimate of what you should pick, I chose the veteran driver setting, but if you’re a rookie I advise you don’t choose it. The game play is fast and furious. Even if you’ve found the perfect set up for a track and saved the next time around the track will change and you’re back to square one just like in real life. I wish they had a tutorial for the setups to help me adjust my car better. I simply adjust air pressure, wedge, and the track bar the rest of the set up is a mystery to me. The career mode is lacking though. There is really no interaction with the team you chose. You can’t communicate with team mates or even see who your teammates are. There are no driver changes; everyone is the same every year. There is no trophy room to see your hard earned possessions. The contracts are stupid; a team dropped me a three time champion because I didn’t qualify in the top 20 one race. You also can’t run more than one s.

This game is super especially if you have a steering wheel to go with it. It feels like you are in the car. Jeff gordon is a great guide, even if you know nothing about NASCAR and how cars are run, you can play this game and have fun.PS I am 69 years young.
Taking into consideration the price of NASCAR 09, all the game has to offer, and the challenge it presents trying to master your driving skills at the various tracks I would recommend picking up this title for the PS3.What I liked:–The detail of the various race tracks–Challenging ‘Season’ mode in your quest to win a championship–Solid graphics–A fairly large number of Sprint Cup drivers to choose from–Camera views to the Left, Right, & Behind your car–The options you have during a pit stop–Victory celebrationsWhat I disliked:–Getting the black flag for agressive driving on short tracks like Bristol or Martinsville can be very questionable at times–Very few Truck series drivers to choose fromYou can unlock a special track within the game along with obtaining the Walmart car. Go into the cheat code section of the game and type in “Walmart Everyday”. You will unlock a very fun road course.Overall, I think this is a solid release which will give the buyer their money’s worth with the time spent trying to master the necessary skills it takes to run fast and consistent lap after lap. NASCAR 09 is a hit.
