This is an awesome game. There are typical hidden object screens with interesting and new minigames. My vision is not that great (20/40 with an uncorrected astigmatism) and I had little trouble finding the items eventually. It is not too difficult and not too easy. The story makes sense, but “talk” scenes are not ridiculously long. This is one of the most enjoyable HOG’s I’ve ever played.
This is my 10th adventure game I’ve gotten from City Interactive. 5 on the PC – then they started doing them on the DS and this is my 5th on the DSi. I do like the DS ones better due to the touch screen interaction. Murder in Venice is an adventure game for the Dsi and DS that has both puzzle challenges and hidden object challenges. Both offer some challenge but are not overly difficult. The story is quite good and takes place in two time periods. The music is also good too – it would make a great music soundtrack. I did also like the fact that this one has no PC version – it is an original for the DS and Dsi. Overall I am very pleased with this game – I replayed Vampire Moon recently and the replay value of these games is quite high although the end stays the same. Not a huge game like 999 that requires a walkthrough to complete with multiple endings but it is also much less expensive too.
Fun game. Just what i wanted. I like hidden object games. Not too difficult either. Did have to really look for some items. Not so much for others. Graphics are great.
Murder in Venice pulled me in from the first scene. The story is easy to follow and the incorporation of the hidden object scenes often added to the story line. The characters are stereotypical, but the graphics are great. I liked the addition of minigames as a welcome change from looking for hidden objects. Getting a high score on the minigames was very challenging. I enjoyed the added challenge of finding chess pieces in all the scenes to earn an award. This game can be done played straight through, and then you can replay any scene or minigame to ace all the levels.I’ve had this game for a while, and still find it enjoyable to play. Great value for the money.
This was a fun search game but I went through it kinda fast. I enjoyed it quite a bit. But could have been longer.
i love this game. i play this all the time when i am not watching tv or playing on psp.
For whatever reason, I had this game on my wishlist for some time. I finally broke down and purchased it and am thrilled that I did! My only regret? Having waited so long. I love hidden object games and am a bit picky on ones that really catch my attention and keep it. Murder in Venice definitely has caught and held my attention. I love the story – the alternating between past and present and the objects are just right in the fact that they are not too difficult but not too easy to find. Tons of fun and a game that I highly recommend for those that love a great HO game!
Good game. Thanks
Love it, there is not much to say. You have to play it to find out. I enjoyed myself and sometimes I play it again and again.
This is a “best of both worlds” puzzle game, as far as I’m concerned. The plot actually makes sense, AND the game itself is fun and interesting. It’s a really short play (I finished the main story version in a couple hours), but I’ve replayed it three or four times since then and still gotten a lot out of it.What really takes it over the top is the extra stuff: the minigames! It’s basically all the minigames you played in the story version (sliding block puzzles, mazes, what my partner describes as “Bejeweled on crack,” etc.), but with a whole bunch of extra levels that have kept me occupied for ages. This game hasn’t left my DS since I bought it because it’s so versatile–if I’m in the mood for a story game, I can play it, or if I’m just in a mood to solve some puzzles, I can just play the minigames. All in all, definitely a worthwhile purchase and I’d recommend it to anyone who likes DS puzzle games.
