a quriky game full of cute girls, japanese humor and anime themes. definately worth the attention for hours of game play.
I just purchased this game so I do not know much about it yet. However from what I read it seems to be like the Disgaea games, witch means you can do insane damage & develop your character so they are superhuman.
NIS America translated “tsundere” to be “bipolar” in this game. While I don’t think “bipolar” is a good translation for “tsundere”, I think it is a fitting description of this game. There are things that are amazing. There are things that are absolutely horrible. As the latest jrpg in the market, the graphic are amazing. The Anime and character model are very well drawn. Walking around the field, the background are beautiful and the camera angle are not too restrictive. The musical score is especially well done. I actually took note how good the music sound while I was playing. For comparison’s sake, both the graphic and the sound are a class above Hyperdimension MK2.Story is pretty good. There are the typical JP humor that are pretty funny if you are familiar enough with JP stuffs to understand (for example, enix’s dragon quest). All the characters are likeable and the story flows decently well. Now the only big problem I have with this game: the game play is too complicated. I have played around 5 hours, and have been introduced to two game play system, and already I am irritated and confused.First is the moe kill. You need it to buff your castle and get better ending. I also heard later on if you kill too many enemy without doing moe kill, your meter will go down to zero and your team simply die. So this is mandatory and you can just ignore it. But it is very very hard to do, because it is completely un-intuitive. How the hell are you going to know if a “bipolar” enemy like.
Please ignore more of the reviews from other purchasers of this game, most of them seem to have purchased the game even though they dislike Compile Heart’s style of RPG. If you love extreme character customization, infinite dungeons, crazy characters/stories, and an in-depth battle system (so much more than the standard attack/block/heal crap that is found in most modern RPG’s), then purchase this game. It has provided over a hundred hours of entertainment for me and counting.
I bought this game for my grandson, who is 20 years old. He said that he loves this video game and others from NIS. He enjoys the gameplay, graphics and especially the quirky humor throughout the video game. He said it is definatly a 5 star video game and highly recommends it to others.
I dont plan for this review to be overtly long; therefore, I will list the characteristics of the game which I found appealing. The graphics are a class above the previously titles that NIS has released. Dialogue is insanely comical for those that are familiar with the brand of humor present in such titles. The unique game mechanics can be difficult; however, what fun would games be if they are always easy? Mugen souls blends the best of the Hyperdimension neptunia and disagea series into one great game. For those that are new to this type of game, you should try one of the games from the series I previously mentioned. They incorpate similar elements, are fun, and are relatively cheap.
I knocked off one star due to censorship and not really caring for the expensive and silly DLC model. The game itself is fun to play. It’s often humorous. If you’re over… I’m guessing 19 years old, you’re going to feel like a bit of a creep playing it.I’m not sure if the age of the girls you’re playing as in the game is defined, but they look pretty young to be so sexualized. Other than that, I’ve not had any issue. The dialog is full of innuendo and humor, the art is very nice, I even enjoy the music. Mugen Souls is fun to play, if a bit complicated.
This game is Niche. You either love it or hate it. That being said I loved it. The battle system may seem confusing with all the things you can do but it’s really simple. I love the quirkyness of the game. Each character is unique and has a fun personality. The dialogue in this game is entertaining and wont let you get bored. I really enjoy the combat. If you like disgaea and their HUGE stats/attack power then you’ll love this game as well. The music goes very well with the game. The game has English and Japanese audio. I’ve only played with the Japanese audio but it’s really good. There’s loads of helpful free dlc for the game if you need it to help you out or want it for post game.
My brother only gets games that he really likes in the first place. So either he already knew he liked this, it was made by Atlas, or it was new (and he loves RPGs).
I like the story and characters. The gameplay is a variation of Hyperdimension Neptunia’s with a twist (go around an area, encounter monsters you see along the way, turn based fights-but you can move around in the fight).Usual NIS America comedy and twists are frequent. So if you’re a NIS fan or anime/rpg fan, you might enjoy this game. The only downside I see is the grinding method. Feels like a chore.
