Yeah. I agree, this is a show of power for the PS3, but don’t let the great graphics be the only part of the greatness, the game is a blast! More of a visual showcase than most racing games, this Motorstorm struts out some fun racing in the process. The tracks are huge, fun and easy for beginners to get into. Mind you the difficulty gets serious later on and like many people have said on here, it can get frustrating. Youngsters will probably not want to play it for long, but if you have patience, this game is an absolute blast. Just don’t let the cheating A.I. ruin the game for you. Hopefully a patch will be administered in the near future when Sony gets their network sorted out.
This game is a fun arcade racer. This game is not very realistic and is very chaotic. If you play this you will crash a lot. There is destruction and debris everywhere you will never have a clean run in this game. It is a game built for online multiplayer and at its best when racing against 10 or more human competitors. If you don’t plan on racing online than you’ll probably want to stay away from this game the campaign “festival” mode is fun but not worth a full retail purchase. If you just want to have fun racing and not worry about executing a perfect turn and every hundredth of a second on your lap time you will have fun.The cars don’t really have stats but you will get to know which classes suit your driving style. Boost is the key to this game if you master it and cooling you engine you will do well. There are many different paths to the finish line which makes using different car classes fun since some open up new options on a track. This is a good game and one of the best racers for online competition, just don’t expect a realistic ride.Update: Evolution the developer of this game has done a great amazing the best job I have ever seen supporting this game. Since release they have added: a mode editor, weekly challenges, downloadable events, multiplayer balancing tweeks, a few new tracks, and all for free. This game did not sell very well due to PSN outage and the earthquake in Japan. Evolution has gained a major fan here and will be looking to purchase anything from.
love this game, very engaging and fun, especially on big tvs 55 inches up with 3d glasses… and race wheel
but if you compare it to the previous two motorstorm titles it doesn’t quite measure up. In my opinion the previous motorstorm’s were offroad based edge of your seat arcade racers. Motorstorm Apocalypse removes much of the offroad action and with that removes much of the real fun in the game. In the previous versions it felt like every second you were about to lose control of your vehicle. The backend was always dancing around or sliding out due to the terrain. In Apocalypse you race mainly on ashpault and with that there is no track degradation, sure in some tracks the road rises or falls out changing racing lines, but there are very few times where a track rut will throw your back end out causing you to veer off the track or into a wall.Racing on asphault makes the handling on the vehicles very predicatble and almost too easy once you learn the best racing lines. It also seems like there is not a vast difference between the handling in the different vehicle classes it seems as if the developer went more towards tweaking boost heatup/cooldown differences and acceleration differences to vary the classes.Another complaint is the track selection there are 9 different tracks with 2 or 3 different layouts. I would have preferred more tracks with a forward and reverse layout because it gets a little boring seeing the same type of terrain over and over. This games strength lies in the online racing in fact the majority of the unlocks, medals, and goals are involved in the online com.
If you liked the earlier versions, this one is even better. Up to 4 players at a time on a split screen. Rad!Product was in excellent shape and shipped fast.
As expected
I’ve been a fan of the Motorstorm franchise since it made its debut on the PS3, and Motorstorm Apocalypse is definitely the best entry in the series yet. Instead of a desert environment, the arctic, or even the pacific; this time around the adrenaline-fueled race takes place in the ruins of the post-apocalyptic planet. You still get a great choice of muscle cars, dune buggies, motorcycles, ATV’s, and the like; but with a terrain that includes shattered streets, crumbling buildings, and destroyed skyscrapers crashing around you, this is the best and most heart-pumping Motorstorm game you can get your hands on. Granted that the game isn’t without its flaws (i.e., the track design itself is loaded with various hazards that will make you crash…a lot), but for the most part Motorstorm Apocalypse is wholeheartedly worth your time, and one of the best racers you’ll find on the PS3 today.
This is the first good arcade racing game I have played in 5 years.Racing games are not my favorite genre but this game was actually fun to play. The story is lame but the gameplay makes up for it. This is a solid game.
Great 3D graphics
