Great game….I like the option of building a team from scratch with custom players who are all rookies and then being able to run the team for 30 seasons which means players retire and are replaced with the original rookie teams stats in the record books….Trying to win as many games and super bowls as possible over a 30 year franchise is fun! I also like the fact everything is done offline….Too many games are total junk because they make it focused on online play….So offline options get dropped completely or scaled back to practically nothing….This game has options for an offline franchise player. Graphics are among the best for a 360 game too.
Christmas present for my 13 yr old and he loves it. His friends and himself would play it all day on the xbox if I allowed it.
i love it great product
This is a great game and got a lot of use while it was still in season. Not many changes were made from 11′, but still a blast online.
Madden was a great game this year, and while there were plenty of annoying problems with it, or weird decisions that EA made to try to nickle & dime customers, the overall package was pretty great. The Offline Franchise mode was compelling, which is a first for Madden in sometime, and while the superstar mode was the same rehashed garbage, it doesn’t matter, offline franchise made up for it. I’d like to see the addition of coaching carosel from NCAA ’12 in Madden next year, I think that it would add a lot to the Franchise replayability. Now, Online Franchise got basically no treatment. It was repackaged from the previous year without any changes, even things like rule changes — like the new Over Time rules — were not applied, which is a massive failure. But, that being said, EA doesn’t get enough credit for opening up their online franchise API to franchise websites and allowing administrators to tie into the system. This got really overlooked in press, and it made a big difference. Effectively, EA allows website developers like MyLeagueManager and others to tap right into the Online Franchise API and re-arrange teams, so that they can make their own free agent signing system, off season system, NFL draft, and more. It’s actually a great, huge change that made Online Franchise fun this year. Most people, though, never got to experience that. The gameplay in Madden ’12 was tight, yet still fun. Passing felt great, not like the chore that it was in NCAA ’12, and the ru.
Great Game&Price!!!!!
First the good – the gameplay is the best it’s ever been (at least comparing it to the last 6 years of Maddens that I have). While animations do repeat, the tackling, blocking, catching and running all feel much more dynamic than ever before. Certain routes are still way too open (slants, TE Seams) but the AI defense is smarter and reacts more realistically – like a real football team. The stadiums look amazing and all the new camera angles really help the presentation. Custom playbooks are an awesome idea, and can be edited even in Franchise mode as your seasons progress. I play almost exclusively in Franchise mode and love the new preseason roster cut downs and in season scouting. Though, without a paper manual (manual is virtual only) there are some confusing menu popdowns that could be better explained. Like how many players are we really allowed to scout? – forums and EA website claim 15 players every 4 weeks but I’ve been able to scout 15 different players each and every week. There’s nothing in the manual or on the menu screen that explains this.Which leads to more of the bad – while the custom playbooks are a good idea, the execution is almost unusable. You start with a “base” formation template (team specific or style specific–for example “Run N’ Gun”), but any formation that you add from outside the template doesn’t get saved in your playbook in a logical way – you’ll see 5 singleback formations from your base book followed by i form, gun etc. then all of a sudden.
I ordered the game on Thanksgiving night and never received so I had to call retrolio repeatedly to get a new one sent to me. Thankfully it got to me swift as promised so Im thankful for that. The game is somewhat different from the Madden’11. The presentation feels more TV like and the animations are incredible. The defensive AI is still not accurate and the O-Line protection is laughable at times but I enjoy the gameplay.
I am a long time Madden junky and I have to say that I was incredibly skeptical about whether Madden could make a jump forward instead of delivering the same version as before. After seeing the changes that were made in countless videos I played the demo and fell in love with this game. I’ve been playing Madden 12 for about 2 months now and still am loving the game.As far as gameplay modes they didn’t add anything revolutionizing, but added depth into all the classics that I have grown to love. Franchise mode has bigger in depth then ever before. You start off in the preseason with an extended 75 man roster with your rookies with undefined overall and potential. This is interesting enough that as a man that likes to test his drafting skills by actually playing through, YES I SAID I PLAY THROUGH THE PRESEASON, because I want to see my potential rookies play and apply them to a role. Then lead your way down a road to a supper bowl. While Superstar mode has been more refined then changed its a nice change. Now you have points that can be changed and applied to your overall, which is much more more and interesting then its ever been. Online there is no game, other then Fifa soccer, that creates such a huge online game base. You can play head to head or join team play. There are even online franchise mode, I play in two with over 6 of my friends and is a blast.Gameplay has also been changed from 11 so that your defense may actually play…defense. In M11, I felt that o.
