lego rock band is a great way to introduce kids to rock band. They love the characters/themes and this version of rock band offers an extra easy play option and the ability to turn off the kick drum so people unable to use there feet can play the drums too.
Everyone from the six year old to the husband with no rhythm loves this game. We love that it’s all about fun, no pressure or stress because someone can’t make it through a song. The song selection is also great, with some of our favorites and some new songs we’ve grown to love. Definitely worth it, and so much better than the original Rockband. And four years later….we still love it!
I only purchased this to import the songs into my RBs/Blitz song list so I cant speak to the game software itself, but Im sure Harmonix was up to their usual high standard.I had bought this as a cheap way to get a bunch of songs for play in RB3 and RB Blitz and thought I would only like 4 or 5 of the songs. I have to say that all of them are quite catchy. Nothing thats going to make me go buy different songs by the bands, but enough that they have all received more than a few plays in both games.
This rock band game has great songs for every age group. The lego characters add a lot of humor which makes the story mode much more interesting and fun compared to Rock Band 2, at least for me. The challenges were especially fun. It doesn’t have a lot of songs, but for the price, you’re pretty much paying for the ones you would download on rock band network and are given some extra ones that may actually start to grow on you. My only gripe is that the difficulty for a few of the songs isn’t too challenging and the gameplay can be similar for a few songs. If you like rock band, you’ll love this edition.
Great edition of RB, nice to get some modern music, as well as a few of my favorite classics. It really doesn’t feel at all like the other Lego titles out lately, even though it clearly uses the same modeling.Pros:* The added Super Easy modes make it easier for younger players (or really drunk older players ;) to play along without getting booed off stage, our 3.5 year old loves to play drums to Queen’s “We Will Rock You”.* Story mode has a great set of animatics before/after some of the key gigs, and some fun little challenges to tie the story to the game beyond a simple “career mode”.* for $10 the songs can be exported (really, downloaded again… kinda annoying) to other RB games* it can play DLC that is rated PG, including some tracks you can’t buy in the Lego RB music store. (bug? we have track pack 1 and the classic rock track pack, there are several tracks that it imports from them that can be bought from the RB music store as individual tracks, but NOT in the lego filtered version… it’s like the music store in the game uses different filters than the import logic does.)* several great songs, it’s kinda fun to hear some of these come on the local radio station and think “hey, we were playing that the other night!”* auto calibration if you have a recent guitar that’s compatible with it.Cons:* Some of the tracking was clearly not gone over with a fine tooth comb like the ones for Beatles RB were. There are a number of tracks where you’ll be going along with a nice solid.
The Lego-ized presentation of this game isn’t to be everyone’s cup of tea no matter how well done it is.BUT…If you like the song list on here you should know that for an additional $10 you can download all of the tracks from for use on Rock Band 2, just as you could with the songs from Rock Band 1. So if you like the material but prefer the look & play style of RB2 then this is still worth the money.
This is a really fun game to play. My kids have a blast with it, and it is fun for the whole family. Be advised that you need to have a microphone for this game so be prepared to buy one if you don’t already own one. This is a really fun game and I am glad that I bought. We have been having good times with this game.
good one, my younger and older kids love it….rock band cd’s are not as familiar to the younger ones…so lego is perfect… Recommended ~>
love it
