The Lego video game formula is well established and at this point it’s just a question of how interested Travelers Tales seems to be in producing a new installment in this series. Some of the more recent games have been better than others, but I would rank LEGO PIRATES among the very best, almost as good as the original Lego Star Wars. The level design is colorful, perfectly suited for the material, the music and animation makes you feel like you’re playing Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow as a Lego character — it manages to be fun and fresh while being familiar. I haven’t run into any of the bugs some here have described (maybe installing the disc to your hard drive might help), and the game manages to mix up some of the level designs so that it doesn’t become repetitive. Highly recommended for kids and adults alike!
We enjoyed playing this game, but it was definitely not as good as either of the Lego Harry Potter games or Lord of the Rings.
My son has been playing handheld systems for awhile now before playing a full system.We 1st played this game on the "Portable Playstation" (PSP).Although the graphics are great on this, it seems that he enjoyed it better on the PSP.It might be that there’s more things occurring in the background that it distracts from playing the game.This is the only reason why I gave it 4 stars.

Loved the DS version, but I wanted to be able to play it on a larger console too. Really fun to play and a perfect addition to any fan of the Lego games overall. The guide book is helpful if you want to find all the legos and hidden items. There are a few that I wouldn’t have found without its help…

AWESOME GAME!!!!!!!!!!I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH :) IT IS WAY EPIC!I love to play this game with family and friends. The storyline, characters, and objectives are motivating and wickid cool beans. Don’t even hesitate. This is like my favorite game.
This is actually the second lego game I have bought in the past couple months. I do like the fact that there is split screen when playing with 2 players unlike Lego Star Wars. I do love the detail in the characters as well. Jack’s lego character runs like he is always drunk, which I always seem to crack up at. The only downside (if you can call it that) is that the game only includes story lines from 1-3 and some of 4 (movies). I would not mind seeing another game come out for the movies in the future.
