Description
Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel Playstation 3 Game. Among the nations on the Zemurian continent, the mighty Erebonian Empire has been quick to stake its claim militarily; yet politically, ugly bouts of internal conflict between the upper class and commoners struggling to rise to power have been steadily intensifying with each passing month. The Noble and Reformist Factions have been none too kind to one another over the years, and tensions between the two only stand to worsen if compromises aren’t reached in the very near future.

Honestly, the best part of this game are the amazing characters and their development. I genuinely grew attached to the characters in the game and didn’t want the story to end. The gameplay is good but nothing special.
I love the game, it has to be one of the best jrpg out there, but the box was delivered without any care, all beaten and bended. A pity really.
I actually had the PS Vita version, but I sold that and bought this solely due to the fast forward feature. Saves so much time during fights or parts of game where you’re just walking slow.
This is a classic turn-based rpg. You can spend a fair amount of time running around school and town and talking to people. The NPCs are not there just to give you game hints. They all have stories of their own that develop over the course of the game. Player characters fit in a great story with an ending that will leave you wanting for more. There are fetch quests and required quests to advance the story. Battle is interesting and the characters and weapons level up easily through the game. All in all, an excellent rpg. It’s a must-get.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel – Decisive Edition is an excellent RPG that fans old and new will love. For starters, this game is packaged with a beautifully designed steel case, a CD with music on it, a 50 mira coin, and an instruction manual with little comics in the back! Talk about getting your money’s worth! Whats new in this version?- added lines of dialogue, updated graphics, turbo mode, and all DLC is unlocked! In the game you play as a teen boy named Rean, who joins the newly developed Class VII at Thors Military Academy. This class consists of some of the best characters I’ve seen in RPG’s, with each of them having unique personalities that keeps you interested through the whole game. Through out the game you attend school, bond with friends, and go on field trips that generally involve you fighting evil forces and investigating drama, which is excellently written. While at school, you can bond with your classmates. Through these bonding events, you will witness heartfelt moments and even some romance that will keep you wanting more. Not once was I ever bored playing the game. Story 10/10The combat system is superb! the game is turned based and each fighter is unique. For example, one staff user is primarily a healer, while the other is an attacker. Knowing this, you can change up your teams to fight how ever you wish. Skills are determined by the orbaments you have equipped, and crafts are unique to each character. Enemies have weaknesses that you can re.
Trails is an excellent series.
Bought this game on PC last fall and fell in love with it, had to pick it up on PS4 for the extra stuff with the decisive edition and to support the games releases in the west. If you’ve never played a Legend of Heroes game, i urge you to to try this one out. The combat system is great and the world building is some of the best of any game I’ve played. It’s really worth a shot for anyone into anime and/or turn-based JRPGs.
I was never big into anime, and Trails of Cold Steel certainly feels like I am playing one. This game is pretty thick with anime tropes. However, it’s a deep RPG experience that is a lot of fun.The theme song is catchy and gets stuck in my head. There’s a lot to explore and plenty of things to do. The game also has you switching characters around often, so tough luck if you’re into having the perfect party. There’s funny moments, touching moments, and plenty of anime cheese to go around. This game also records your progress as journal entries, so it’s easier to get into again if you put the game down for a while. The battle mechanics are very interesting and I appreciate that. I also love that there’s a turbo mode. That comes in handy from time to time. There’s a lot of linier stuff. I never felt the need to grind, but I did fight most enemies I came across from point A to point B.All in all, this is a great RPG and I am now a fannof the series.
Really great game. It’s a typical JRPG with lots of chatting, but the combat is fun on higher difficulty settings. Don’t expect any flashy cutscenes…just a good story of friendships and political unrest.
I have to admit, I was wary in the order phase. But I admit- much like the “Tales Of” series- I was blown away! Graphics/Art- 10/10. Story/Actors/Ease of Play 10/10. Game instruction 10/10. Translations 10/10. ReMaster-10/10. I can’t wait to play Trials 2 and 3!!! But I need to finish 1, and do at least one Game Plus! One more thing- the added gift box and extras were astounding- cleverly packed-mint condition; and with retrolio Prime- the delivery was incredible.Amended: Honestly- I eventually suffered total brain-drain from all the text. The game grew more ponderous after each play. It does NOT mean it is a bad game- but when I popped in “Dragon Quest” Elusive Age- I was mentally cleansed. I have several games in my Que; and then I shall re-approach this novel with a different perspective. But frankly- I can’t wait until II, and as of yet III is an unknown.
