Great classic must have in your collection for sure.
For starters, I love the Legacy of Kain Series, but mostly Soul Reaver. First real open world exploration, finding glyphs, solving puzzles, killing baddies, and in my opinion, the first real storyline and best series I’ve ever encountered or been a part of. There is nothing in this game that displeases me in any way…put your think tank on and pop this game in. I’m waiting impatiently right now for it to come out on the PSN so I can rock out as Raziel on my PS3.
Have been looking for this game for a while and am really happy I found a shop that had taken such good care of it.
Beautiful graphics, Powerful spells , challenging puzzles, and of course plenty of gore. The Legacy of kain series never dissapoints and soul reaver is no different.
Kain has opted not to sacrifice himself, and there are forces out there that would have you believe that this once noble knight was now a selfish and aarogant tyrant, and while this seems true if there’s one thing we learned from Blood Omen, things are not as they appear.1000 or more years after Blood Omen Kain has been exaulted to the status of a god. He has raised up an army of vampires lead by his first "born" Lt. Raziel and lashed out at the humanity that had attempted to erradicate the vampires under the leadership of Mobieus.Every so often a vampire enters a state of change and evolves. Raziel sprouted bat like wings, and in what seemed like a jealous rage Kain tore the wings from his back and ordered Raziel to be executed. But that is only beginning. Centuries later, Raziel awakens, battered, torn, and not even a shadow of his former glory. A mysterious entity calls to him and orders him to exact his revenge on Kain. The story is pretty straight forward compared to Blood Omen, and Soul Reavor 2, it’s still a story of epic proportions but not as good as it’s prequel and sequel. Still it’s integral to the over all story. If you haven’t played it yet shame on you, but get the Dreamcast or PC version.
I lost my original disc years ago. But, since getting a new one, i play it everyday. A good buy.
This was the first game in the seris that i played. A friend gave it to me, and i’m glad he did because if he hadnt i wouldnt have known anything about this really cool seris of games. This was the game that made me want to get the others in the seris (though i dont have Defiance yet…)I like this game mainly for the story and voice acting, above all the voice acting. The story is so deep that this game should have its own movie. The voice acting, like Blood Omen, is superb. Simon Templemen makes his return as Kain and even though Kain was only around for a few parts of the game, Simon still does a good job in making the character intriguing. Then there’s Micheal Bell who voices the main Character Raziel. Raziel is even more interesting then Kain. you cant help but like him, and Micheal Bells voice helps that a lot. The suprising thing is the guy is 60 years old…WOW, and i tought a young guy was doing the voice. big suprise! Now lets move on to gameplay, it is very cool, the only thing i have to conplain about is that it is very confusing where you have to go in the game, Both me and a friend i let borrow this game had problems knowing where to go. The game doesnt really bother giving you hints on where to go. But after noticing that problem i bought a stragety guid and it made it more easy. now when i replay teh game i dont have problems anymore.I also have to conplain about the weapons. you only get spear-like weapons like poles from wall No swords or axes and etc. which.
Great game for logic thinkersHad not trouble finding the key to the play.Recommended for ages 10 and up
