I am an AVID Final Fantasy lover, so given that the newest title will not be released until December 2013, I figured I would find myself something else to fill the gap. Although this is a Square-Enix game, I was super concerned about the combat setup. After much review and some YouTube video time, I gave in and purchased. I couldn’t have made a better choice. The gameplay is right up my alley. Some of the dialogue is badly timed and contains some awkward pauses, but the game is altogether good. Battles are getting super difficult, so keep in mind that leveling up your people is EXTREMELY NECESSARY if you have any hope of making it to the end. I might have been a few years late on the purchase, but it was worth it. Another great title from Square.
I would not recommend this game to everyone, especially not casual gamers who are not very into this genre. It has a complicated battle system and some technical flaws. That being said, this is one of my favorite games and I’ve played it through twice. The combat is not exhilarating, but like a lot of RPGs it had more of a story focus. The soundtrack is great and the boss battles get really big and difficult as the story goes on, so there’s a lot of challenge. It’s more strategy based and if you set up your groups differently the battles can be either really hard or easy. For example, the Gates of Hell at the end of the first disk. I spent an unspeakable amount of time trying to beat that, but then I switched up my parties and I beat it on the first try. Voice acting is mostly subpar, but if you play a lot in this genre you’re probably used to it.
Nice game, it’s an oldie JRPG with good story and gameplay elements. Don’t miss it.
The game was ordered for my son, it came and was packaged as expected. The game (s) did not have scratches, dents or pits and played out of the box. Awesome
Good solid game
Youve already heard that this is an rpg meant for adults, simple, just take your time, make sure you boost your characters stats before venturing futher. All negative reviews aside if you want this game to run smoothly, just download it onto your hard drive wich will eliminate most of the lag and other technical problems that i dont have on this game. The story is really good, the graphics are rich with detail as loong as you play it in high def. Persnally i love Square Enix and i love the rpg titles that they have put out for the Xbox 360. Its cheap anyways so pick it up and enjoy, but just remember one thing, take your time and you will enjoy this game.
I saw preview screens of this game a while back but had forgotten the name of it. Recently, it’s popped back up on the radar due to the upcoming release date. Did a lil research, and low and behold, The Last Remnant. If you’re a fan of turn based RPG’s with impressive graphics, this game it for you. If you were a fan of the old Shining Force games for the Genesis, this game is for you. All in all, it’s not a bad game even though I am still in the very, very early stages of playing. The game does have some glitches. The animation for the cutscenes completes and there is a noticable pause before the voice acting kicks in. Nothing super serious, very easy to look past, but it’s noticable.I look forward to completing this one. There aren’t alot of games I have time to sit all the way through and complete, but this stands to be one of them for sure.
Another product I’m sure I reviewed but hey why not. No bugs or freezing yet. I’m still on disc one and its working like it should. Not sure what disc two has in store for me but I hope it works as well as disc 1. I’m still glad I bought this. I was seriously in the mood for an RPG.
A very decent and worthwhile game from Square Enix, in my opinion, The Last Remnant far surpassed my expectations on the Xbox 360, which I have to say, were extremely low after reading online reviews.I had no hard drive to load the game on, so I feared even being able to get the game to boot after all the dramatized postings I read about lag and freezing. Truth is, the game never caught on me for more than a single second, perhaps two tops, and these were only on the occasional battle. Even when linking long scale multiple battles, which is actually not something that is recommended for game mechanic reasons, the technical faults of this game are nothing that should shy an RPG fan, or any kind of gamer period, away from this title. I realize the 360 is among the newest tier of gaming machines out there today, but the criticism that this has received in my eyes is completely unfounded. Technology isn’t perfect, and shouldn’t be expected to be.The story was a little thin at points, but kept up with itself in most ways and is nicely expanded by the recruit able characters. Which is also what makes the 360 version of this game so annoying, the limit to the amount of “Leader” characters, or the unique interesting ones as I call them, that can be used at any one time meaning you must either juggle characters, increasing the number of characters you have to level, or find a few you like and stick with them, which is what I chose to do. Afterwards though it made replaying the g.
Bought this for a friend that loves these types of games. He made sure to load it onto the Xbox memory, which made loading and saving much easier! Great game, even with the slightly difficult battle controls. Great story and in perfect condition.
