Simply put, see what the people have to say that have played and beaten this game, not the reviewers. The controls are very intuitive and pretty easy to learn, and once you do, this game is just plain fun.
even though the game got bad reviews, this game has been patched and now works great. it kinda of reminds of the game Ryse out on xbone. OFC the graphics are not as good as RYSE, but possibly warrants one play through.
LAIR was a game that kept catching my eye, but I repeatedly shook off buying it due to the poor critic reviews. Finally, I decided to trust my instincts and give it a try. I was not disappointed; the story is intriguing, the graphics are excellent, the music is awesome, and I enjoy the control scheme. I really don’t see where all the negative review scores have come from. This game deserves plenty of positive recognition. I did not even realize how intricate the PS3 controller was until I played this game. The complaints I have about LAIR are very minor. I really wished it was a little longer. The targeting system on the controls needs some refining, but this did not hamper my enjoyment. There were some drops in frame-rate with some of the effects in the game.If you have been on the fence about LAIR, definitely go get it. If you like innovative games, definitely pick this up.
Wow. I was shocked at how great this game was. You can easily get a copy of this game for under $10 and it is entirely worth it. I actually just got done playing it. I will admit, this game is rather short. It took me less than a day to complete it. The controls take a little bit to get used to, since all gaming is using dependent on movement with the joysticks. I found myself many times, instinctively trying to use the joysticks in tough situations, which would make me more confused than anything and cause me to yell out a few expletives. Once you get a hang of it though, it’s just great. I mean, you get to ride a dragon the entire game, and that’s just awesome. The real strong point of this game is the storyline and music. I feel like it’s an alternate dimension Lord of the Rings in a way. It helps the music sounds like Lord of the Rings music. Even at times, I feel the game resembles Star Wars, even if it is a fantasy game. I mean, there are times when you have to take down these giant beasts like AT-AT Walkers, so that helps. In regards to music, it really drives the whole story. It’s entirely symphonic and orchestral. A cool thing they did is in the Extras section where you can go to a section called “Concert Hall” and listen to 57 different tracks featured in the game. Awesome.Replay value? Well, once you beat the game, the Stables are available on all the other levels, meaning you can play the story again, but with different dragons. The main storyline dragons are a mix.

dude this game isnt bad. It is pretty fun, actually, well at anyrate the controls arent great. Yes they should have included analog controls, but its not that bad once you get used to the motion sensing. But hey the graphics are amazing and the story is not half bad so far. If you dont have disposable income you may want to rent it first though. And for this game to get lower ratings than Madden 08 is a travesty THAT is a truly bad game.
i loved every second of this game! i don’t know why so many people are hating on it? i think it’s genius and a turn around from all the other game being released now a days. I hope they can make a second Lair game!
Many critics bashed this game when it came out but…DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM! I have literally 200 video games, including many classics and this is one of the best in my collection. The game is very similar to the Star Wars: Rogue Squadron games for Nintendo 64 and Gamecube also by Factor 5, which are my favorite games of all time. If you’re one of those Rogue Squadron fans anxious for a new RS sequel, YOU MUST PLAY THIS! The controls are great, that’s right. I said the controls are good. The motion controls are very responsive and well done. I think critics like IGN wanted to make up excuses for this game being too hard for them. That’s another thing, this game is difficult. Not Contra difficult but a bit harder than Rogue Squadron. If you’re a hardcore gamer, it should take you a week or two to beat it. The story is the best in a game yet and the music is incredible. Overall, I would highly recommend this game to Rogue Squadron Fans and Hardcore gamers. I loved every second of this game.
Hey guess what, Lair doesn’t suck. I got the game the day it came out and to my surprised I couldn’t put the controller down. Once you start the game you realize that this is what the PS3 is all about. You get to use the SIXAXIS controller to move your dragon on screen and nothing else, no joystick is required (but of course this is only the case if you are moving your dragon, for everything else you use the buttons on the controller). To tell you the truth, I tought this game was going to dissapoint because of that, but honestly it feels natural when you pull up, down, left, or even right the dragon really reacts. I’ve read somewhere that this new way of playing was a mistake, to those people I say SUCK IT! Those people that feel that Lair isn’t any fun, they really don’t know what good games are. But really if you are looking for something a little different, with graphics that will amaze you get this game, you won’t stop playing it, trust me.
