Pros:The first thing I like about this game is you don’t have to follow a story line – you can just turn it on and fight. Following a story line or trying to reach an ultimate goal (other than kicking all the bad guys butts) is sometimes hard for my 5 y/o to follow. But he gets this concept very well, just turn it on and fight for 3 rounds. I did a 3 minute round and my arms were so sore and my lungs were burning! (And I run 1/2 marathons – so I’m not completely out of shape) This is a GREAT workout. There is a learning option where it walks you through certain punches and things you can do to earn extra points or really defeat the bad guy, which is nice. But you also free style fight and it’s great.Cons: My son is 5, so he is short and sometimes it’s hard for him to fight on the screen because the game doesn’t seem to compensate for his short stature, so his punches are landing at the bad guy’s knees – making it harder for him to winOverall it’s great. I’d recommend to purchase. We don’t have “hours” of fun with it – as after 15 minutes we are both exhausted. But then the next day we turn it on again. I will – and have suggested this game to everyone with a Kinect. Great family fun for those boys interested in boxing.
I marked it down for language – Obviously this is a game for kids and we don’t need to say "Let’s kick some ass" where they could have said butt instead. It is a word that is not terrible but we strive to have the kids use good language and this "ain’t" it.The kids loved posing in the various stances that were later incorporated into a comic animation.Lots of action – not very realistic but it sure wore them out doing various flips, and zooming around.
Kung FU High is impact is loads of fun. My four year old could play it out of the box, and in no time he’s knocking off ninjas, ghouls and giants while bouncing around the living room. He stays in the free play area though, because the language in the story isn’t fit for kids, and the cut scenes are a little intense for children. biggest problem with this game is getting my kids to let ME play it. The extra power moves are a lot of fun. Some kinect games are a little frustrating because of all the sign in- sign outs. Kung fu panda was a waste of money as the action is SOOO slow and gameplay is frustrating. This is our favorite game of the dozen we own. It is quite a workout, and very intuitive. This will make you sweat. Who needs zumba?
I purchased this game after reading the reviews on it and I felt like it would be a great game for my son and I to play. My six year old son was scared at first, because the first scene was darker. However, once we got to the second level he fell in love with the game. I too love playing this game. It is so much fun and my son finds different ways of attacking the enemies, which can be hilarious. His hug attack is awesome! We have gotten pretty far in the game, and it actually has been great on our teamwork. There are some parts where I struggled and he excelled and vis-versa. You can just walk out of view of the kinect and it pauses the game and then the other person can walk into view and continue playing. In away you can play it like tag team wrestling. When a person gets tired or needs help, we just swap out. This was a great game and it definitely was in my price range. I will not be selling this game when we win, because it still be fun to play and show other people.
So this is a really fun (and a good exercise) game.. once you get used to the weird controls. One of the problems is that the bad dudes are on your side so you have to turn your body but still look at the screen. The story mode is alright so far. chapter 2 is so hard but after you get to like chapter 4 it starts getting fun. one of the awesome things is you can just grab random things from your house and use them as weapons >:D im using 2 hot wheels track thingys for duel swords works preety awesome(note: the game doesnt make them look like swords the game just registers them as if i was punching) overall for the price get it!
This is really the type of game that I hoped that the Kinect would come with. My kids really like it, and it’s quite a workout. The cut scenes that incorporate photos of the player are fun and unique. I can confidently recommend this game to parents of active kids (or kids that like martial arts and *need* to get active).Word of caution: make sure you have plenty of playing space… you don’t want to take a roundhouse kick to the face, do you? Forget about it!
Okay, so I didn’t get much past the first level because I didn’t feel like breaking my back in those awkward backflips to get away from the opponent. I love the concept and it worked swell, but I’m too lazy for this. (Notice how I didn’t say "old")I think the kinect adventures is more my speed and even that left me pleasantly tired after a half hr of jumping, ducking, and running. Punching and kicking at the air (a definite must in this game) is good for pulling a muscle. If you’re energetic and love high impact games, give this one a shot. If you’re worried about the price, check around. There are probably used copies on here or ebay. Hey, even my copy will likely be for sale someday. It’s a game worth trying. I’m happy I did even though it turned out to "not be my thing."
Okay, what can I say; it is just goofy fun. Do you remember those Kung-Fu movies that lip sync is off and the special effects are over the top. Well this game has that and a bit more. You just punch and kick your way through bad buys. The motion sync is not perfect with KINNECT; however, what game is really perfect with that technology. If you just want to be Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan or Jet Li without 30 years to get there, well then you will have fun with this game.PROS:Goof FunYou will get exercise without knowing it.CONS:Not perfect KINNECT motion syncingCan get tiresome; physicallyAll-in-all, you will have fun with this game.
This game is a workout! Kids loved it, and so did I! It’s quite funny too, with the pictures you take in the beginning. Lots of fun for everyone to participate…just don’t get worn out!
I have this game for the ps3 and the XBOX Kinect. It is so much more fun playing it on the Kinect because there are no controllers and the sensor is much better. I bought this in 2012 and my son played it for a good 3 years. He’s a teen now so we only break this out when we have company over. It’s so funny to see papa get on there and fight some bad guys. If you have a child that never stops moving, get him or her this game. They will love it!!!!
