As an avid fan of these games, this was definitely one of the best I’ve played so far. There was a great balance of tasks, character dialogue, plot line and mini-games to keep things interesting and moving along. Too often the games and challenges in the Nancy Drew games are too complicated to be able to figure out without hints–at least for me. In this one I found that I was able to complete almost the entire game without help even though it was complex. There was a good amount of creepiness/scariness to this one as well–I have to admit that a few times I jumped in my seat when things happened. This is a great game if you’ve played a few of the other Nancy Drew games and are looking for more of a challenge. I would highly recommend it!
Kind of difficult and definitely has the scariest scene in the series. Beware the bathroom ;) Worked on windows 10
Game downloaded and installed very quickly, and the game had no glitches! :D
I played this with my 15 year old daughter and she kept hiding under the covers lol ded NOT for little girls. It was fun with a good story line and challenging puzzles.
I played this game on a Windows 7 PC, which worked fine. The game was amazing! You start at a Japanese inn (Ryokan), and everything is happening in Kyoto. Eventually you do Nonogram puzzles, Sudoku, Renograms, and make cute animal bento boxes. Nancy will have to go to a “Pachinko Parlor”, which is kind of like an arcade to win prizes. You will also have to solve a mystery, which involves a lot of paranormal activity, and maybe you will be scared after awhile. I assure you in the end you will have a sigh of relief.
This is the scariest Nancy Drew Game I have ever played! And I loved every second of it!
I want to install the game on my laptop and play it again, but could only find one disc (figures). Then I found this digital download version and it was quick and easy! Took less than 20 minutes to download and install.
It’s a fun game, I enjoyed it and the kids have too!
Like others, I had trouble installing. It kept giving me an error about DirectX not being able to install, but Her Interactive has a troubleshooting page on their site that solved my problem. They provide a link to install the most recent version of DirectX. The game install worked flawlessly after I did that.4 stars because of the installation issue. The game itself is great! I’ve been playing Nancy Drew games for years, and this one does not disappoint.
I have gotten hooked on the Nancy Drew games and this has probably been my favorite. It had some really creepy moments (the RoboCat, the eerie music, the Ring-esque encounter) that had me a little nervous about turning out the lights as a 23 year-old. The scenery was really cool and I enjoyed all the Japanese elements. I got addicted to the bento box-making mini game! This game was cool and definitely kept my interest. I only took off 1 star because there was one point during the game where I got stuck and could not for the life of me figure out what to do. It was very frustrating and I eventually had to look it up in a walkthrough. But all in all it was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this game.
