Although probably not the greatest Kirby game ever, this is definitely the best handheld Kirby out there.Kirby Canvas Curse has Kirby regularly doing his thing in Dreamland, when an evil sorceress appears out of the sky. She waves her magical paintbrush, and the world turns to paint! Kirby gives chase, but the sorceress turns him into a ball! Helpless, Kirby lies on the ground and sees the magical paintbrush. Then, it transports to you on a ray of light! (also known as your stylus)This game is probably the only Kirby game with a good story (I haven’t played any of the classics so I don’t quite know). You play with Kirby as a ball. You can touch Kirby to make him dash forward and attack or just go faster, and you use your stylus to draw lines for him to ride. There are 6 main levels each with 3 smaller levels within, which each have 3 stages. Once you clear one level, you can go on to the next and the next, until you reach level 7 after facing a few boss challenges along the way. Here you see “The World of Drawcia”. Here, you go through two stages. Once through, you see a very strange mirror. Once you enter, you are put in fierce battle with Drawcia Sorceress! I won’t elaborate further. In each stage of each mini level of each level, you can find a Medal. There are 250 levels to hunt for and collect. However, most of the medals are NOT found in the stages. They are found-no, earned-in something called Rainbow Run. Here, after you have completed a LEVEL, you will find these mini.
Love this awesome game soooooooooooooooo much!!!!!
At first, i thought this game would be a let down on my B-day but after about five minutes i started to see the fun of this game. So far, you won’t find any other game quite like this, or with your little pal kirby for that matter. I would recomend this game for any fan of kirbys or even people that aren’t. Pinball look out, kirby is scoring hits!
First of all, I must start by saying that this game is not as easy as it looks, nor is it too difficult that you’ll get frustrated. It just has a sweet blend of length, difficulty, and replay-ablity. This game can be easily beaten in a mere day, but you’ll miss out on the true experience. It’s easy to draw a few lines and tap Kirby a few times and make it to the end, but in each level, there are hidden medals that are well off the main course. You can use these in medal swap to unlock songs, line types and other bonuses for Kirby. As the game progresses, getting to these medals gets tougher. Also, enemies littering each level aren’t the only thing you have to worry about. You have to take notice of how much ink you have, your vitality, and sometimes rising lava, winds, pits, and automatic scrolling. The game gets really tough XDThere’s a lot here to fool around with including a few minigames. I consider this a total must-get for all DS owners who feel neglected by lack of fun titles. If you don’t buy this game, at least rent it and play around with it. You won’t regret it.
Kirby:Canvas Curse is a good game. I will rate it in five categories below.Graphics – 3/5What is it with all of these nintendo ds games using 2d graphics when the ds is capable of 3d, this is my main gripe. Other than that the graphics are good.Gameplay – 4/5This is the same thing over and over again. You never use any buttons, but the stylus is fun to use, but very difficult in the underwater worlds.Music/Sound – 5/5This is a good feature. The music doesn’t get annoying like it does in some games.Value(how long this game takes to beat) – 5/5This game could last you a very long time if you try to get all the medals. It takes a long time to do, trust me.Fun – 4/5This game can sometimes get frustrating to the point where you just want to give up. Especially in the rainbow run courses (time trial).overall – 4.2 rounds to fourOverall – 4/5
Nintendo’s on a roll with quality DS games. WarioWare and Pac Pix were clever, unique and fun, and now along comes another classic icon: Kirby. Once again, the transition to touch-screen is made in fine style, with a delicious mix of challenge, fun, and creativity. The control is everything that the DS will eventually become famous for: intuitive, fresh, and perfectly executed. Although it mainly consists of drawing lines and tapping objects, you can use these techniques in innumerable ways. Dead-on physics are also a helpful touch: the more steep your lines are, the more speed Kirby needs to reach the top.Level design is flat-out brilliant. While some stages look similar, each one requires different skills and strategies. Unlike the GBA Kirby games, real brainpower is needed to figure out what to do. It’s made even more deep by the fact that you can absorb enemy’s abilities to get by certain obstacles. Often, you’ll need to get a certain power, and then carefully avoid losing it until you get to the area where it’s usable. Not that it’s all head over heart; there are plenty of moments where pure speed and a precise hand will rule the day. It doesn’t take uber-gaming skills, but you can’t just mindlessly run through it either. The main game is a pretty quick play, but like WarioWare, the true fun is in the extras. By looking carefully around stages, completing time trials, or finishing a level with a minimal amount of drawing, you can earn up to 250 medals. Collecting them beco.
I say the second must-have because Mario64 DS is the 1st.This game is incredibly fun to control and play. The way the game works is by using the stylus to help Kirby (who has transformed into a ball) maneuver throughout the world by creating bridges, walls, and even loop-de-loops for him. Of course this wouldn’t be a Kirby game without the ability to copy enemy moves. Kirby (once defeating certain enemies) can take their special ability and use them to his advantage. There are tons of enemy moves to get that will help you reach certain places or defeat certain enemies easier. This game has it all, beautiful, colorful grapics, an enjoyable soundtrack, and very intuitive, interactive controls. You’d never realize how much fun can be had without using ANY buttons. Great Job Nintendo/HAL Laboratory. If you own a Nintendo DS, GET THIS GAME.
Great Game for young ones;especially the ones that love & are familiar with Kriby’s world.Good fun without any violence.
This game is very fun. I bought the Japanese version the day it came out and I have played it a ton. I must say that it goes by very quickly, as I finished the game 5 days after it came out. Overall, this game is great. I reccomend it if you like Kirby games, and I think that this is the best one yet!
This game is a great action platformer. I mean, just look at the screenshots. I know it looks strange since you use rainbows as lines to guide you, I didn’t like that. But, they thought ahead and you can buy different skins for the line. Anyway, the point is, to make a long story short, is about a whitch, who turns kirby into a mere ball, no legs. no arms. no body. Just a soccerball. But boy do they make this simple concept into a fun and unique experience. Kirby moves by himself, and sometimes he can run into obstacles,(ok all the time), you must draw with the DS stylus to make a shield, attack, and of course the path. Of course you have a limited amount of Ink which spoils the fun but oh well. And the “Bosses” aren’t really bosses, you can pick from King DeeDee, and two new characters to the kirby saga. It’s a great game, but I gave it four stars because it’s ONE of those games where I have the urge to play it, but get tired of it an hour or so later, and so on. It’s a great game overall, it’s just missing multiplayer!A-
