A great game, and a great challenge. As previously stated, it was supposed to be a Terminator game. The liscence was apparently lost after the final boss was programmed. Still a cool game. One of the most challenging games to come out for the NES. There are VERY few health power ups, so you’ve really got to avoid hits and make every unit of energy count. I just wish more people knew about this one, so bragging rights for beating it would hold more weight.
Fun game
This is the lovechild of Contra and Mega Man 2. Combine a good, solid, run ‘n gunner like Contra with the audio quality of Mega Man 2 and you’ve got yourself Journey to Silius. The controls are not as tight as Contra (the jumps take getting used to and are not as precise as Contra), but good enough not to be “broken” in the game engine. This game takes hints of gameplay from both games and borrows some audio from its sister games as well – Blaster Master and Fester’s Quest. If you want to play this game simply to have fun, I recommend using a Game Genie to give you help. It makes the game a *lot* more fun as you don’t have to worry about losing and can treat it like a true Contra game where your focus is to blast stuff and tell the enemy to get out of your way. Here you go:STAGE SELECT, SOUND TESTTo be able to reach this hidden stage select, a Game Genie is required. Enter the code XTUSKTAV and you’ll be directed to a stage select screen after pressing start on the title screen. By pressing button A or B you can choose the stage you want to play. When start is pressed the game will begin at the chosen stage. If you use the code above combined with this one – TEXINTIA – You can go directly to the final boss, but make sure you choose “Final Stage” on the stage select screen. But that’s not all…Here are codes that do not require Game Genie:If you press B 33 times while on the title screen and then press start, you’ll be taken to a sound test menu. Use A or B to select the tune you.
This is yet another pretty generic side-scrolling game for the NES. You move to the right and shoot enemies with your futuristic weapons through 5 action-packed stages; 5 is a fairly small number but the stages are huge, so getting through this game might take a little longer than a Contra game. A big boss awaits you at the end of each stage; the last stage has more than one, anyway…However, this is not the true magic in Journey to Silius; It sure is generic, but it has a good level design and it represents a real challenge for any NES gamer. The best thing in this game? The music, of course. When I first played the game back in 1991 I got totally hooked with the technical and melodic quality of those 8-bit tunes. Some extremely well-crafted synthpop and pseudo-spacesynth tracks help give the game a great futuristic feel (for the early nineties, anyway…). There isn’t a whole lot of music in the game, but what there is, it’s truly outstanding and well worth the price of admission, all by itself. In general terms, Journey to Silius is a generic game, but a very enjoyable one. A must for any old-school gamer.
10/10 thank you. I didn’t experience the game pak sleeve or the instructors. Thanks :)
Will order from you again
This is hands down one of the best games this system has to offer from its slick gameplay to the music with drum beats and other instruments put to good use, considering NES hardware capabilities. The boss battle music is also the most serious I have heard in an NES game, it even has the feel of an emergency with a siren in the middle of the boss music track. Overall, I recommend this for anyone who likes Mega Man style shooters with its own story and gameplay.
game came in great condition. worked right out of the package. no cleaning required. everything i could ask for
Great game fast shipping!
Fantastic game for the Nes system. One of the rare gems that are sought after and I enjoy it very much.
