While growing up in a not so rich family, gaming choices were quite limited for my brother and I. We only had about 5 games in total, and jak 1 and 2 were 3 of them. After hearing that there was a third jak game, you can imagine our excitment, but having no money of our own we were forced to simply sigh and wait. Two years later my brother got a simple job mowing lawns and finally raised the 40$ for the game. We popped it in and loved every single cutscene and race, even though it was comletly different to the previous two jak game. Now 15 years later I finally have disposable income and what do I see, a trilogy of my favorite playstation heros? I bought it almost instantly. After getting a platinum in the first game in under 3 days and currently working on finding all those damn presurser orbs in 2, I can’t wait to revisit the excitment of jak 3, even though rose tinted glasses of nostalgia may have blinded me a bit
WE loved this game! It was a nostalgic purchase from childhood days but it was better the second time around! the animation just kept getting better through the games and the price was great!
It was cheaper to get the three than just the one which is what I really wanted, but the second game is okay, and I have honestly never even tried the third.
For long time Jak and Daxter fans, this HD collection is a MUST HAVE. It was so nice to be able to revisit all the past Jak and Daxter games in a remastered state, with the same crisp audio. Nostalgia definitely kicked into overdrive as I was playing this collection, and I would highly recommend it to every PlayStation 3 owner to be honest. A word of caution though, DO NOT buy the Jak and Daxter collection for the PlayStation Vita since that particular version has terrible frame rate issues.
Classic PS2 games worth replaying for any fan and definitely worth the purchase for those who missed out when they were originally released. These games are as fun as ever and surprisingly different from what’s popular today in gaming. Adventure platforming is maybe something of the past but these three games are open-world and worth exploring thoroughly. The only downside I noticed with this collection was the switch to HD affected some minor details and probably could have been made to look better than they were in the finished product. But still a great and entertaining purchase!
Oure nostalgia right here. I was skeptical at first but it arrived well and it was at a great price!
An excellent series. Although this PS3 port has a few glitches and problems (particularly evident in Jak 2) It is still very much a fun game. As others have mentioned, Jak 2 is frustratingly difficult due to the lack of checkpoints and health packs, but for what it is it is still very much a good deal. In terms of graphics, I would not call them "remastered" as all the textures and graphics are the same, just this time being rendered by the PS3 in 720p 60fps. Although it would have been nice to see a few things updated to more modern standards, I certainly can’t complain given the $13 it costs!
I wont even describe the games because hopefully you know these games are a must-have for any 90’s youth. Or any genuinely good person.Graphics: I personally don’t notice much difference between the original, it does require some fiddling on your TV settings to get the fullscreen effect. I got the best results on the 16:9 (widescreen) setting.And lastly i will say on Jak 2 you can use the exploit on the "find the gold orb" mission to get all precursor orbs. Google it. Because frankly some side missions are impossible.
I really like the jak and daxter games. I have been a fan and have played them sense they came out. I didn’t want to get a ps3 because I wouldn’t be able to play them, and if I did I would have had to buy one of the first models with the backwards compatibility. But i wanted a ps3 slim. So I didn’t worry about it until I found that they had these games remastered and all together for under 20 bucks. So I got a ps3 slim and got this. I am happy with it. It really does look really good in HD.
I remember when i was 7 years old watching my older brother play “jak and daxter” i was mesmerised, i absolutely loved every bit of the game, and when i had the chance to play it, just the whole game was perfect. “well i got scared of the spider infested mine, and couldnt continue through that… lol” I WAS 7 YEARS OLD CMON haha.on jak 2’s release my god parents bought me it as a birthday present, probably didnt know it had so many sexual references and or swearing lol but i played “most of it” until i reached a mission which i could not complete, “i think it was entering the barons warehouse” was just so hard. so i left it…. finally got jak 3 and completed it. loved the story and characters.just last year i remembered jak 2, and was like “ok time to get the old ps2 out” im glad to say i finally finished it, still was hard but im happy now :Dall in all, these three games where all done perfectly, in story and character development, and having it come to ps3 is a dream come true “plus the HD makes it better too”its a must have to all gamers, if you only play xbox, get a ps3, or ps2 and get these games.
