What a difference from the black-non Microsoft controller. The first thing noticed was the feel and response of the buttons. Improved my gaming as I found it to be more precise (platform games). The lights are real mice and I found a switch in the back that allows for on/off, light and vibration. Definitely recommend this controller, looks great, feels and performs great! Also a great price.
Excellent controller in every aspect (but one) and reasonably priced. Its tragic flaw is that it easily develops a loose connection between cord and controller causing the controller to flicker on and off annoyingly interrupting games etc. I have bought about five (5) of these over the years and they have all survived rough use by my three young children except for the cord connection issue.A solution/prevention is to wrap duct tape around the cord right where it meets the controller (pictured). This stiffens the cord so that it doesn’t over-bend breaking the connection. On my most recent purchase I did this straight out of the box and so far it has remained issue-free.
I bought three controllers that advertised that they “plug and play with PC games!” and NONE would work no matter how much software and settings I tried to fight with. Fortunately I found my good-old Afterglow! I love it, its taken a beating, and I’ve had this one for only about 8 months, but I have an old one of the same variety that I have had for about 4 years! No problems with either of them. They are very sturdy and made of thick and heavy unbreakable plastic. Love them!
My favorite controller for the Xbox 360. It’s very similar to the standard Microsoft controller but is curved slightly different. This makes it much more comfortable for longer sessions. The buttons react quickly and I like the feel of the joysticks. One complaint is that the coating on the joysticks comes off after a while. I purchased grip caps but they just slid around and came off. I ended up needing a new set of controllers (one suffered accidental damage and I, um "dropped" one) and I put the caps on right away. With the rubbery material in place the caps stay put.
I thought the usb cable would be permanently attached (I want to use these at trade shows for my video game so people don’t walk off with wireless controllers), but it’s attached to the controller with a normal usb micro-b sadly. I guess I’ll try epoxying the cable into the back. The controller seems to work well so far as a 360 controller replacement (which have stopped production, RIP). It feels heavy and high quality, and you can turn off the incredibly bright LEDs with a button on the back that I’ve only hit once accidentally.
All the photos for this product – show the original variant of this controller. The original Variant had the cable soldered on to the controller, meaning, if the cable went bad, you were done for.But as you can see with the photo I provided, this new model is a bit different. This new revision has a micro USB port on the controller that the cable plugs into. The port itself lies about 6 mm within the plastic, which is a good thing. That means the cable wonĆ¢ā¬ā¢t wiggle the port loose over time.Unless they completely discontinued the previous unit, getting this variant might literally be based on lottery.A lot of the negative reviews are most certainly from people who rough handle their products. With the unit that has the cable soldered onto it, NEVER WRAP IT AROUND THE CONTROLLER. Over time, continuity will be lost. And with this new revision, plug the cable into the controller as straight as possible, donĆ¢ā¬ā¢t yank on it or blindly try to plug it in. It should honestly last a long time.
I Bought this controller for the sole purpose of playing some PC games and not have to worry about my PS4 drivers being correct. Seeing how Dark Souls 3 is currently incompatible with next gen controllers. (May not be this way in the future.) I needed a cheap solid controller that can withstand my ever growing dark souls anger. This seems to be the one , I’ve clamped and squeezed it a lot without even a pop.The Controller has a neat little button on the back in case you grow tired of the LED’s, or you just want to sit in the dark. Just press it and turn it off or on. The cable on this is a very lengthy can reach half way across the room. (granted why would you move?)Also for my fellow PC players this is just plug and play. No need to Download or install drivers. Seeing how it is an Xbox 360 controller still.Completely Windows 10 compatible.Need a quick cheap fix? Here is the solution.
I love using this type of Xbox controller for the PC.When hooked up to a PC, the controller will read right away and there’s no hassle having to configure anything! The best part is that it does light up in the dark so you can see your controls better! The only downside is that after a couple weeks – a few months of use, the upper left rubber thumb joystick starts to fall apart after use.To fix this issue, please search retrolio for "xbox controller thumb grips"Purchase the green thumb grips for the xbox 360 controller if they are available for you, or whichever ones look most appealing to you!I hope this review helps people, and also helps so you don’t have to keep wasting $$$ on a whole new controller each time! Cheers!
to call myself an xbox “hater” is a bit extreme lol but in all honesty i have never really been a fan of xbox360 controllers. i could not stand how bulky they are and IMHO they are poorly designed compared to the utterly sublime ps3 controller. however i needed something to play skyrim on my laptop with and this effortlessly and painlessly suited that need. you just plug in and play and coming from someone with a known disdain for xbox360 i can tell you that i do like this controller for those purposes. its really not bad and hasn’t crapped out on me yet. i keep in crammed in my backpack with the rest of my work gear which includes various instrument/mic cables, headphones, and my laptop charger and it has held up just fine. i like the blue one personally. i’d say go for it!
I purchased the Afterglow Wired Controller for Xbox 360 to play games on Steam on my laptop. The controller works perfectly with Steam, much better than the white Xbox 360 controller I used previously. I was able to just plug and play with the Afterglow controller. I’ve had the Afterglow controller for about four months now and it works as well as the day it arrived. It’s a very sturdy, well-made controller. The controller is a nice size and the blue lights are really cool. The buttons never stick and the joysticks work perfectly. I can’t attest to how it works with an Xbox because I’ve never used it for that purpose but if you play a lot of games on Steam, this is the controller you’ve been searching for.
