Nice little nostalgia trip for INTV fans.
love the fact that you have so many games to choose from. i even found games on here that i never knew existed! looking at these games from so long ago puts a smile on my face at how far we have come with video gaming.
Except of course for the annoyingly temporamental analog pads the original system had. ;)Has all the voice-synthesizer games too. Of course, some of the best games for the Intellivision, were license games like Bump N’ Jump, and the Disney Tron games (especially Deadly Discs, my favorite), which are naturally missing. But this is a great collection of some great Intellivision games. Even has Hover Force!
I do not remember Intellvision games the first time round.I read about them.I noticed this game on sale and bought it. Pleased I did. These games are the first chapters, if you like,in gaming. As for Space Spartans? The voices get me everytime!A good buy.
Why is this the best version? Because for the first time, the number pad is faithfully reproduced, along with the overlays on the bottom screen. It’s almost as if the DS was made to play Intellivision games. Other console versions had to implement a cumbersome system of bringing up a representation of the pad, that brought game play to a halt. (In case you’re wondering, there is button support on many games as well.)…Well, that, and playing Tower of doom on the go should be enough for any fan. In fact, the entire D&D trilogy is here. Along with Astrosmash, Shark Shark, and over 60 awesome titles. It was a long time coming, but well worth the wait. One thing that’s a bit of a let down, is that you have no access to the multiplayer games, which are local, unless you actually connect with another player. The up-side is that Intellivision lives supports single cart play, meaning the other player doesn’t need a copy of the game to play. And yes, Sea Battle is in there!A word of warning, there is another listing with ‘Jack of all Games’ in the title, with the exact same box art, here on retrolio. Avoid it like the plague, it’s a dupe. I didn’t purchase my copy here, in fact I had to do a fair bit of driving around just to find it, because I wanted it A.S.A.P. With limited shops, and the hurdles that had to be overcome to bring this to us, we need to support releases like this, if we want to keep ’em coming.I should mention too, that the current ‘Product features’ on this p.
If you are over the age of 30 and owned an Intellivision or Atari you will love this game. For those of you who loved the PS 2 Intellivision Lives! version then you’ll be happy to know that this port to DS is perfect. Complete with instructions for each game, high scores and virtual “controller cards” Virtual Play has immortalized Intellivision. The DS game comes with over 60 games and seems to be true ports that run smoothly. I noticed a few sounds being off, but nothing I can’t live without. I would strongly recommend that if you never owned a classic console (pre-NES) then you probably won’t like this. If you want to re-live your childhood memories and spend 6 hours playing Night Stalker or Snafu then this game is for you.
If you like the cute little games that Mattell put together for the I-vision, you’ll probably like the NDS version, which includes a couple of games I’d never heard of.
Volver a mà infancia no tiene precio
The older games are and always will be fun. It is fun to play plenty of games to play a lot.
