My favorite game since Rune Factory 4. Great game! Played it through 3 times, now playing a different game but missing Stella Glow, will definitely be playing it again.
I am not going to spoil anything. I want you to have a good time. So, hear me out right now and make sure you build up a relationship with [the first witch to join your party] and [last witch to join your party]. By doing so, you will have a great time at the end of the game when you clear the map in no time. Otherwise, go with your gut. Now, about the game. Lufia fans will find similar elements in Stella Glow that they saw in Lufia from the god elements to the holy smokes plot build up. Yes, there is the overdone Start Town that is destroyed by the bad guys and you fight the bad guys. Yes, familiar currency and knights. The game is very beautiful, though, and let’s face it: it’s a glorified visual novel with some strategy stuff going on.I haven’t played a game that had my friends telling me "please shut up about that damned game already" in a long time. It is seriously underrated. You will find a lack of online material for the game, which is a shame, as it does have 40+ endings, and I wanted to know what happened in the other path lines. A lot of the music is nice.As the characters level up, they take on specialized tasks. For instance, you will have two knife throwers who will likely become your search and destroy scouts. Lady knife thrower has a powerful status effect bonus, so you can use that how you will. Me? I like for her to charm enemies and add them to our ranks. The songs and conducting mechanism is what the developers want to set apart. They’re powerful spe.
Great game
First off, I would like to say that I am not a frequent player of STPG’s or JRPG’s, whatever you would like to call them. I’ll list the Pros and Cons to this game, and let you decide if this is for you.Pro’sFun character design. Everything is bright and exciting. The characters have fun personalities and it’s fun to hear some of their dialogue.Strategic combat system. Stella glow uses a grid format, similar to Final Fantasy Tactics. Some unique additions to this system is directional advantage. If you attack someone from the side, or behind, you will do more damage. Likewise, you will relieve more from the side or back. The witches. Each of the witches have fun personalities that match their element and attack style. I personally think the Chibi style is just ok, but I know a lot of people like it.The music. This game is focused around song and the witches singing. When you get a witch conducted during a battle, it is so fun.Con’sSometimes corny dialogue. This game is very anime-Esque. While I enjoy watching anime, it can tend to get very annoying with the dialogue. You will see a lot of "I will work hard to get to a level where you can trust me on the battle field" and "you should be yourself, I believe you have the inner strength blah blah blah"Slow at times. This game is dialogue heavy. You will spend half your time talking to people, and the other half in a battle. I have put 10 hours into this game, and have probably had like 20 battles.Somewhat sexist. No.
raphics, music, cinematics, story, content, controls, gameplayI have about 7 hours sunk into this game so far, the prologue it self takes about an hour, you can’t go into the menu until about what took me 1 hour and a half of game play. It’s story rich and that’s how i believe every single tactics game should be. Nintendo games have a wondrous thing about making the main characters have amnesia. Now the reason why I give this a 4 stars is:PROS- Amazing animation ( the characters look amazing, and I love the chibi style)- Unique story- Time consuming ( each battle would take over 15minutes to finish)- Controls are very straight forward- No difficult mumbo jumbo that would confuse you, so if this is your first strategy game shoot for it- Free time makes you choose between talking to your party peers which increases your bond/affinity with them making them learn new skills and evolving your friendship with them, working for extra gold and by continously doing the job you level the job up and get more gold, exploring the and for a random item-Friendly fire makes the game a lot more think worthy- There’s different classes that have different unique abilities that are not interchangeable, but for an example a guardian which certain monsters can’t pass him unless he’s defeated, he’s the wall of your team. While an assasin like "Rusty" can pass by guardians in a cinch and have a huge mobile movement block.- When you get game over you have a choice of restarting the match.
If you are looking for proof that good JRPGs exist for the 3DS, then look no further than Stella Glow. A turn-based strategy game based within a world of fantasy, featuring a harem of female companions to interact with and "romance." Recommended to me by the man once known as DarkFire, who now goes by the name Raltrios, this is probably the most underrated 3DS game of 2015. Beautiful art, good voice acting, a fabulous soundtrack, and a compelling story. Stella Glow is the kind of game anyone who enjoyed Record of Agarest War or fantasy anime should try, with just one minor caveat I found after finishing the game twice. As in many JRPGs you begin the game in a small village, full of friendly people who live out their lives in peaceful harmony. The main character, a young man by the name of Alto, lives together with his childhood friend Lisette and her milf of a mother Rosa. Disaster strikes as a witch named Hilda sings the ‘Song of Destruction’, crystallizing the village and everyone in it besides Alto and Lisette. After fighting some monsters and one of Hilda’s lackeys the Regnant Knights show up, scaring off Hilda and saving Alto and Lisette. You come to find out that Lisette is actually a witch herself, and Alto is a special person capable of tuning witches. So the two of you join the knights in their search for the other witches, and a way of reversing the damage the song of destruction has caused.Gameplay is broken down into two parts, the battles and the "free.
After beating Fire Emblem: Awakening, I was a bit conflicted as to what game to play next. I browsed on retrolio for a while before coming across Stella Glow, another SRPG game that interested me.I received the Launch Edition, which came with a keychain, a cloth poster, and a cd containing 5 songs from the OST, in addition to the actual game. While it doesn’t add to the value of the gameplay, the items were definitely a bonus. I’ve put together a list of pros and cons of the gameplay.Pros:-A wonderful plot full of twists and turns and interesting characters-A unique strategy battle system (the direction a character faces can impact the damage and accuracy)-A BEAUTIFUL OST (Probably my favorite part of the game)-100+ Hours of gameplay-A mix of tough and easier battles-A new game+ feature (allows for more character interactions, tunings, endings etc.)-Great voice acting-Opportunities for level grinding-Nintendo Play Coin IntegrationCons:-Some battles seemed impossibly difficult, especially when the goals were different, such as to protect a city or escape a location without any characters dying.-AI ally characters could be a bit annoying at times, especially if they engage the wrong enemy or ruin your chances of achieving a mission goal.In conclusion, Stella Glow is an Amazing game! Fans of Fire Emblem and other SRPGs will love this game.
Worth every penny. This was one of the best games I’ve played in a long time. Highly recommend this game if your a fan of anime/JRPGs.
I really enjoyed playing this game when I owned it. It unfortunately was stolen. Decided to look and see how much a copy was and these prices are outrageous. I’ll settle for the Digital copy on nintendo store for 19$.
Great!
