It’s hard to stress how much of an improvement this game is in every respect from its predecessor. While the original Neptunia was a fun game, with lots of charm, it…well…barely did anything right. Music is easier on the ears, enemies are more diverse, and the plot actually makes you give a care about what’s going on. Sure, it’s still silly and fanservice-y out the wazoo, but now it actually has a fun core experience to back it up. And about the silly fanservice? I wouldn’t really recommend this game unless you: A) Are familiar with anime, and specifically Moe-blob fanservice shows, and B) Are more into modern RPGs with easy learning curves. It can be down-right nasty sometimes if you aren’t careful.Bottom line: if you want a fairly challenging RPG, and like, or at least can tolerate, oodles of fanservice, get this game.
Very fun and big NIS fans must get, A good game for those seeking jrpg entertainment. NIS is great and makes great Jrpgs
Enjoy Playing!
This purchased for an extremely creative child, who tends to get bored very easily. The item came earlier than expected, which made the child happy. A big plus was that they enjoyed the game and offered no complaints.
Since this was the first game I played in the series, I didn’t know what to expect. What I got was a fun, visual novel-esque dungeon crawler RPG. If you like RPGs that actually show your new weapon you just bought instead of a default sword, or that you can change who you play as, get this.
My youngest Daughter is a gamer and is a big fan of the Hyperdimension games. She is waiting for the third one in the series
I’ve played them all and this one was my favorite, I really hoped that Victory (next game in the series) had kept its M for mature rating, it was one of the aspect that kept this game series unique and good. If you like JRPG’s and moe and weird stuff in your games about games within a game, then you will enjoy this title. If you have no idea what i’m talking about, than don’t buy it unless your into anime+games.
so far very fun, I enjoy the battle system far more than the first game. The comedy so far is great and the characters are likeable. the free DLC on the PSN store help with any money issue you may have, but don’t make the game super easy, bosses still got me till I grinded a few extra levels. Overall a fun and enjoyable experience, if you liked the first game you will like this one.
I’ve only played this game for an hour and already I am enjoy it! There are vast improvements over the first game. If you’re a hardcore JRPG fan, you’ll love this game! If you’re just a fan of JRPG games, you’ll love this game. If you just like and enjoy JRPGs from time to time, you’ll still find some good qualities from this game. Sure it’s a bit embarrassing at times to play it, but once you get past all the controversial poses in the art stills, you’ll find the good in the game. Some improvements over the 1st one for those who played part 1:Battle System – No random battles. Enemies on screen. Full heal after every level up. A more free turn-based battle system.Dungeon maps – All characters can treasure hunt the hidden items. Not just specific characters forcing you to switch when needed. Dungeons are free to enter and exit without penalty. 1st game dungeons were tied to missions and entering/exiting the dungeon was part of it.Quest system – Shows you which shares it will affect and how much by percentage, which is a big plus. Can do and complete quests at the player’s leisure. You can choose to submit all completed quests or just some or none anytime you want.Story – Actually has one.World map – No more terraportation (at least I’m hoping. I’ve only played a little bit). This is a plus for me because that was kind of bothersome in part 1.Is it a perfect game? Of course not, but with this kind of improvement they did over the 1st game, they are moving in the.
What turned me off from the first Hyperdimension Neptunia was the DLC that gave you access to the other party members you meet in-game. Mk2 immediately rectifies this with a party of, to my understanding, almost 20 characters (with two additional characters that are truly optional DLC, as you aren’t pressured to buy them in order to build up a proper team). Believe you me, I still bought the first game for collective purposes; niche games have a tendency to go out of print shortly after their release date. So far, this game hasn’t gone out of print, so I have high hopes that this will get into the hands of the people who want it.This isn’t a game that is meant for the mainstream audience that is looking for the next Triple-A hit, or something that can supplement them between said hits. As a niche Japanese game that is a parody on the modern video game industry, Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2 takes the liberty of going all out in everything it does; whether it be characterization, voice acting, jokes/puns, and even special attacks (one attack has you wielding Keiji Inafune himself as a weapon of mass destruction. Hilarity ensues). The gameplay is something similar to Sakura Wars V: So Long, My Love. You build a party of four characters (and four other characters behind them to be of use later), and each turn you move your character around in their allotted space before performing an action. Turn order is shown in the upper right corner of the screen, so you can plan your turns acc.
