This was definitely a five-star book by a five-star author. Brilliant character development and a plot with a different kind of twist make this a great book for all ages. Janet Edwards Earth Girl series is one of my all time favorites so I was hopeful I would like this one but since it is a totally new series and new world I was hesitant about reading it, because have we all loved a series but found some of the same authors book not a good. I had nothing to fear as I read this one because it is just as amazing as the Earth Girl series now we have the wait for the next Hive Mind book.
I really enjoyed reading this book. Watching Amber and her team grow and learn together is enjoyable. Watching as they work through various hardships and how they tackle a variety of problems is rewarding and even inspiring at times.

Edwards gets better with every book she writes. It’s a very easy read and you want to read it again right after you finish it the first time
Loved the plot and the characters. I normally stick with books that are free with Kindle unlimited, but I am very happy I spent the money to purchase this book. I also bought book 2 and the nouvella. I would gladly buy more if there were any… I sincerely hope for a 3rd book.
Loved it but was bitterly disappointed to see more than a year and several books in other series and series starts with no sign of a follow up book two in the hive mind series.It takes an interesting look at a future earth where everyone moved underground and even though theoretically they could come back out now theri cultural changes make it so that they won’t. Cultural and hints of something more! In this future telepaths or nosey’s help identify criminals before they can do any real damage, or at least that’s the theory! But as usual theory tends to break down in the face of reality.I’m interested and eager to learn more. And to be truthful I kept expecting to find a vast criminal conspiracy, or maybe not really vast but well dug in, inside the borderline-path psycologists. It blew my mind to find out it was another hive. Anyway lots of fun and I hope to find out more about this world with new books and instillations into this series!keep writing.The Deposed King

This is one of my favourite books, and I have read it multiple times. The world-building is thorough and convincing, the protagonist is feisty and endearing, and I loved watching her grow into her role. Ugly duckling stories where the main character is a special snowflake revealed as a swan can be hard to do right (so many authors make such a mess of them) but I thought this managed very well. The heroine is imperfect, but trying to do her best. I like the way the telepathy is done too, with the different levels of people’s minds whirling away – another thing this book gets right. Interesting characters, fun interactions, and the series only gets better…
Very interesting society. Liked the theory of training and testing the children for their future careers. I would like to see a continuation of this world.
The main character is enjoyable to read about, though a little lacking in personality. She is clearly intended as a reader avatar. That said its fun to watch as she gets to see behind the curtain of the seeming utopia that she grew up in.What is refreshing about this world is that the adults aren’t evil, and their actual motives are not sinister. The reality of Ambers world is not as clean as she believed but neither is it a dystopia to be overturned.
