I dig this game. I play it about once a year. Despite having played it a few times, now, I rather enjoy it every time. It’s more like a comforting interactive story than a serious challenging video game. I like the relaxation factor.
This game is not your typical action/thriller but instead more of an interactive story with so many different options open to the player that it is almost like real life. Many of the scenarios you are placed involve some pretty extreme and sometimes even graphically violent outcomes. This game isn’t for the feint of heart. However, if you enjoy good thriller movies or books, and enjoy playing video games, then this is definitely for you.
Absolutely love this game! It quickly became one of my all time favorites, and only took like 2 months to platinum it (making it my fist platinumed game). The artwork is so convincing that I forgot that it wasn’t a movie (lol) and I completely sympathize with all the main characters (even the origami killer). The trials had me cringing and I think I even cried at some points. I highly recommend this game to any gamer!!
This unique video game experience (and it is that, precisely) isn’t for everyone. It’s, in my humble opinion, for folks who want a little bit of novelty in their collection, and avid appreciators of the true artistry that is becoming more prevalent in the creation of new, particularly next-generation console games.I’ve owned this title for about a month now, and I haven’t played through but a small portion of the storyline. Why? I claim to like it, so…. Well, the reason is I really need to be in a particular head space to get into it. You’ve read the plot, I’m sure. The gameplay is intriguing, and the action is delightfully "daytime television" (Days of Our Lives, and the like.Here’s what it comes down to: if you plan to check out the upcoming title Beyond: Two Souls, you really should own this game, even if you don’t intend to play it. It would be like owning the Lord of the Rings trilogy but not The Hobbit. (the books, people, not the movies)
This game won a lot of recognition for it’s storyline and movie like plot. I recommend that if you are a ps3 owner, to try this game because it’s well quite worth it. The director’s cut version comes with a DLC storyline called "The Taxidermist" which I think fans of the main plot line will very much like. Buy this game if you haven’t yet.
The storyline in this game is absolutely AMAZING. I cannot believe I didn’t get this sooner. Beautiful game and a good choose your own ending game. I have never gotten the same ending when I’ve completed this game! You also must be ready to press a button, because you don’t know when something could happen. I love the fact that I have to press the button and hold them to get through obstacles. It makes me feel like I’m really in the game! Recommend this to all fans of games like The Walking Dead and who love games with different endings every time.
This is one, great, game! If I had known it was arcade, style, I probably would not have gotten it …and missed out a loads of interesting game play! It is engaging, and the characters are very true-to-life. The story is pretty interesting, too.As noted, I was unable to finish it, but I got within sight of the final scene, at least. There is one scene in which someone gets trapped in a fire. At that point, the otherwise fairly stable background starts going in circles, and all I got, was dizzy. I tried it, again, and had to quit. I could make absolutely no, headway. A video, on youtube, showed me how it ends …and the ending is pretty cool, too!I definitely recommend this to anyone. If you prone to dizziness –I didn’t think I was, but this did it… lol– you may wish to see the ending, like I did. Even so, you will DEFINITELY enjoy the story.
The game play/save mechanic which forces you to deal with the consequences of your choices, mistakes, and just outright failures as a player is relatively unique and compelling, but not in the way that would make me want to reply the game all the way through again in an effort to make different choices or otherwise not drop the ball during certain sequences. Thus one of the game’s greatest strengths is also its greatest weakness when you factor in re-playability. At current prices, though, it’s worth experiencing even just once.

Watched my boyfriend play this, it was one of his Christmas presents from me. I watched about an hour and got lost in the story. The graphics are awesome and there are some pretty intense moments – I kept biting the sleeve of my shirt and was literally sitting on the edge of my seat!It’s a bit different than the usual games he plays, but I wanted to get him something unexpected this year. I also got him BEYOND: Two Souls (actually found out about Heavy Rain while reading reviews on Two Souls). He said he knew about both games and wanted them but was waiting for time to pass so they would cost less.The interaction is slightly lacking and it gives few choices on what to do next, and it’s pretty much telling you how to defeat the bad guys during fights but this type of game, it’s not about having several weapons and methods to put someone down. You feel emotion while playing and it’s a good story to keep it interesting. So far I’ve seen at least 2-3 scenes that were gripping and a bit shocking!
