Halo: Reach tells the tragic and heroic story of Noble Team, a group of Spartans, who through great sacrifice and courage saved countless lives in the face of impossible odds. The planet Reach is humanity’s last line of defense between the encroaching Covenant and their ultimate goal, the destruction of Earth. If it falls, humanity will be perched on the brink of destruction. Characters, enemies and environments are rendered in amazing detail by an all-new engine designed to deliver epic-scale encounters against the cunning and ruthless Covenant.

The game is great fun love it fully. The only problem I am facing and others have expressed is it gets boring after a while. The reward system is not very great especially since all you can get is armor which serves no defense purpose just a visual one. I am finding myself getting board much faster than I did with Halo 3 but I believe that is because I over played Halo 3 and it is carrying over to Reach. The reward system needs to be better. They should add in weapons from past Halo’s that can be purchased and make the armor have some, if only minor, effect on defense and how bullets hit you. All in all the game is definitely an improvement from Halo 3 no doubt about it. The only problem is it is only an improvement and not to much an upgrade. I gave it 4 stars because it is like like playing Halo 3 with new guns and maps and some perks. The reward system should allow you to unlock more like maybe the perks, the ability to change your first weapon with your load out and eventually your second and many other things like that and maybe even the ability to play as an Elite just not in Swat unless everyone is an Elite.
This game is still amazing even 6 years later! It was Bungie’s swan song as it was their last Halo game and it really shows how much detail they put into this one. The story puts you in the role of Noble 6, a new Spartan recruit to the Noble team. For not being in control of the Master Chief it still feels solid, this game takes place before Halo Combat Evolved. The mechanics are all familiar here and the multiplayer is top notch. My personal favorite is firefight as you fight to survive endless waves of enemies. You can tweak the settings to set things up just as you prefer. My main gripe for this game is the state of the Backwards Compatibility release for the Xbox One. It is just inexcusable at how poor the game runs. I attempted to play with my friends and even on co-op the frames dipped below 15 with frequent stutters. This game is very much optimized for the Xbox 360 and although the emulator for Xbox One Backwards Compatibility is continuing to improve, it is worth noting that you shouldn’t expect top notch performance for the One as of yet. I will update this review if that does change.
based on the fall of reach novel…this game lets you join Noble team…an elite group of Spartans..who are assigned to defend the planet at all costs…but if you read the book..well you know the story, so i wont go into that..You play Noble six a new spartan assigned to the team..then,when all hell breaks out on Reach..your team is put into action. Now the fun begins!the game play on this entry in the halo saga does NOT dissapoint the combat is fast and intense..youll earn your stripes on this one.. the firefight mode is excellent and is my favorite its way better than halo:odst’s in my opinionthe graphics here are stellar..although not as jaw dropping as halo 4 but, they are still something to behold..and since this is Bungie’s last halo..they pulled out the stops..the animation is crisp and fluid the cut scenes and music are dynamic.. the online play is also very good..you see some familiar faces for the “first time ” like cortana..where you have to protect and deliver safely to capt keys of the pillar of autumn ( from the first halo) as well as dr halsey…and last but not least a brief glimpse of a new spartan named john117(you know who that is ) the last mission after the game credits end is called “lone wolf” where Noble six has to fight off the covenat forces alone on reach..basically a last stand..it adds to the tone of the game.. after that you get dr halsey giving a speech on the future and praise of the fallen spartans..Bottom line..in my opinion enjo.
Though there are few reviews on retrolio to my surprise, I’ve heard a lot of people saying that they didn’t like halo reach, but I actually loved it. I found it fun to take a small break from the usual halo (which I’m a big fan of) to learn the history of the spartans and get to create your own spartan. I loved it and getting to play in the past and it honestly got me emotionally invested to be honest. I’m a pretty big gamer, have always loved it and I thought that Microsoft did an excellent job with this game! Bravo!
343 Industries is alright, but Bungie will always have my heart. For those looking for the “Bungie” feel, Reach is the way to go. Plus, there are still lots of people playing live. Will always recommend this game.
A prequel in the long-running Halo series, “Halo: Reach” delivers more of the same basic gameplay that’s been present since the original “Halo: Combat Evolved”…and not much more.Essentially, Halo: Reach is the same game as previous incarnations of the Halo series. The basic gameplay – a first-person shooter with vehicle elements – is intact, albeit with some minor changes. These changes include new abilities (though only one can be “equipped” at a time), some new guns (most of which are functionally identical to older ones), and a few short sequences in helicopters or spaceships. Playing the actual basic game feels almost exactly like playing old Halo games, with basically the same weapons, vehicles, enemies, etc. Because it’s a prequel, they couldn’t really add anything substantial – not that this stopped them from putting in a few new guns and vehicles that never show up in later installments. One of the things that is, in a way, “new” is the customization of the main character. Previous Halo games have had customizable characters for multiplayer, starting with picking a color in Halo 1 and developing into different helmets, shoulderpads, and so on in Halo 3. In “Reach”, the option has become available to pick a female Spartan (this option technically existed in Halo 3, but only affected the character’s voice). In addition, the changes made to the model reflect in single-player, as well, since the Master Chief is no longer the main character.A lot of the multiplayer modes.
I absolutely have been a fan of the Halo series since I started playing Halo 2 in high school, and I became instantly addicted. Halo Reach is a step in the right direction. Instead of rushing to get powerups like invisibility and overshealds, the player can chose from a selection of setups for their character each and every time they spawn. You can chose from Jetpacks to Sprint, which can come in handy depending on the gametype.Speaking of gametypes, new gametypes like Invasion (Spartans vs Elites) and Zombies add to the replay value of the game. I think this has to be one of my favorite MP Halo games. The new ranking system includes daily and weekly challenges that once completed, helps boost your ratings up even faster than playing matches.Campaign was also pretty well done, it is a darker Halo game, but great story and an ending to remember!
True Halo fan here, Bought an Xbox to soley play Halo, and bought a 360 to soley play Halo as well. Been palying Live since Halo 2.This one is probably my least favorite campaign, maybe the fact that you aren’t Master Chief and just some regular guy loses some sort of excitement. The levels are fairly forgettable too.Multiplayer (Live) – Awesome as always – I love the added features too such as sprint and jetpack (which you can use during campaign too). Not much else to say – great classic halo style gaming.Oh yeah, and they brought back the Battle Rifle and modified it to a single shot…very fun.
Bought Halo reach and found that the game works fine, no glitches; all settings within game work. Despite it working so far, I’m about halfway through the game, It came very scratched, and I was initially concerned about the performance of the game. No problems so far, but I would have liked to have known that good condition can mean it has plenty of scratches. Thanks for good deal though!
Great game that came in great shape. The online multiplayer server are still live and very competitive. I also play the local multiplayer at home, something Halo 5 doesn’t do, which is just ridiculous. I love all of Halo games (or at least own and beat). I guess the campaign story is sad, but it’s realistic. This is my 2nd copy so that we can play vs the other Xbox 1 in the house.
