Excelente
This is the first Gran Turismo game I’ve played in many years, and I’m very impressed at how far they’ve come. The cars and tracks look unbelievably real, and the control is outstanding (especially with a steering wheel controller). A++++
Pro:Excellent GraphicsI like the jazz music.Con:You always have to start from last position. Why can’t you do a trial run to see which pole position you would start in.You have to select a certain make car to enter the race. After you do that and start the race, there are other makes of cars racing against you. That’s not fair. It’s take forever for the winning dollar totals to add up when adding them to your winning account. You can show great graphics, but to add two numbers take an eternity. When I won the races and unlock the extra cars, they were added to the end of list of car manufactures. Why aren’t they added in alphabetical order? I didn’t even know they existed for the longest time.
As expected of Polyphony, the graphics and the game play is excellent. However, this is still the prologue so there is not much to do after the events are cleared. You can do time trials and play online, but online does not have as much players now so it may take several tries before having a race. If you don’t have the game now, wait for the full game to come out in 2010 (hopefully).
Item was as advertised and received in excellent condition. I am very happy with it and would recommend it to others.
Great racing game. Nice cars.
My husband is a huge Gran Turismo fan. I knew this version wasn’t the completed version, however, I had a feeling he would still enjoy the preview version. So when I bought him a PlayStation 3 for his birthday, I bought this game to go along with it. Other than the fact the car list and some of the courses aren’t complete, this operates like a full version game. My husband is LOVING it. The graphics are FANTASTIC and so realistic. The grass even moves in the wind when you drive by. The level of detail in this game is amazing, especially in the playbacks. He’s having a lot of fun with this game, and I’d highly recommend it to any fan of the previous Gran Turismo versions who are itching to try the new Gran Turismo 5. The price point compensates for the fact it’s not the full version game, so I think it’s a good value for the money.
From the “Prologue” in the title, you know right off the bat that GT5-P is not a full release. Missing from this version is the full “Simulation” mode which you can buy cars and tune them with racing parts with cash acquired from prize money and participate in Licence tests in order to qualify for tougher, more prestigious races.Still, there are more than enough features to keep fans of one of the best racing franchises happy. First off is the beautiful HD output. If you want to show off the capabilities of your PS3 this is the game to buy.Instead of the Licence tests, you compete in a series of races. If you get a medal (Gold, Silver or Bronze) in a particular class (Class C, B, A and S class), you can advance and compete next higher class of races. After you beat all of the A class races, the tuning options will open up which you will need to adjust to upgrade or downgrade your cars so that they can properly qualify for the S class races. You can also compete online using the cars you have won or purchased. The online races are also divided by classes and are unlocked by unlocking the classes in offline mode. The offline mode is not perfect, but it is definitely passable. If your bandwidth takes a dive, you will notice that your opponents cars will start “blinking” and the collision can randomly turn off and on, which can cause some potentially nasty spinouts. Still, if you have some decent bandwidth the prize money won from the races can be used to purchase even more cars f.
As someone who purchased the PS3 mostly for the Blue-ray player and the features other than the gaming, I would say first off that the graphics are unreal compared to the Nintendo 64 (last video game I owned). That being said, this game is fun to play, but can be a bit frustrating at times. Some of the races are all but impossible to win, or to even finish in the top 3. I know I’m not an experienced “gamer” but for someone with fairly good hand-eye coordination, doesn’t seem it should be that difficult.
For anyone who’s played GT4, you’ll notice right off the bat that GT5 takes gran turismo driving to the next level. Pretty graphics, awesome engine and tire sounds, and the in-car view really pack a punch. GT5 is so fun. The tracks, scenery, cars, and driving feel is more realistic than ever, and the new feature of having a home page which shows your car in various real world locations such as London, Germany, and Los Angeles to name a few. Combine with terrific online play featuring car and point-specific events, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue crosses the finish line in 1st.
