Goemon and all his friends are back in his greatest adventure yet! Goemon’s Great Adventure combines classic Goemon platform action with an all-new twist. The evil time-traveling nun, Bismaru, has summoned Dochuki, a demon prince, to take over the Earth. But first, she wants to marry him! Can Goemon and his gang stop the demon? The different areas are made up of five types of stages: Road/action stages, town stage, gate stage, castle stage and Impact stage. You are going to have to whack, jump, and push your way to victory, all while solving puzzles along the way.

This is a game that I grew up playing, and hits the nostalgia button for me. I have spent countless hours trying to beat the game. It’s well worth the money invested, and the visuals are great by N64 standards. The music is phenomenal, the characters are timeless, and the game feel is great. It truly IS a Great Adventure.

Really, this game’s a hidden gem, as well as the first 3D installment (on the 64 at least, Super Famicom had 3 games I believe, and Famicom had 2). Sure, it’s difficult, but that shouldn’t stop you from playing it!Remember Mischief Makers? Think that but Goemon-ized and more Mario influence! Really a good selection for anyone trying to find a challenge!
I remember when I was younger and went to BlockBuster to rent Video games back when BlockBuster was the place for movies and games. I remember coming across this game and renting it a few times. Since I never invested in a Memory pack for the N64 I could never beat the game unless I left the system on (which I never decided to do) so I kept playing this game for probably like 4 hours straight as a child and actually making it past 80% of the game (I didn’t know I was that far till I beat it recently). Now that I am an adult, I can afford to replay some old games I could never quite finish due to the lack of a memory pack.Now for the real review. This game is pretty interesting and it really isn’t that difficult, you don’t need to be an adept gamer by today’s standard to complete this game either. The most challenging part for me would be the boss fights. Also, it may get confusing what to do at times to progress in the story but luckily they have a fortune teller you can go to if you ever get lost, forget what to do or just get stumped. The story of the game is comedic and very easy to dive into and follow through. You don’t need to remember anything complex to progress in the game and to follow its story as you go. The soundtrack for the title screen and your companion robot “Impact” is very catchy regardless if you don’t understand Japanese..Gangnam style was catchy too lol. This is a very unique game by its standards of its time and now. it’s different as an adventure gam.

It is a great game!
This game is great, I had it a few years ago for N64. The dialogue and sound effects are hilarious, the stages are fun and challenging. It is not like some newer games that only take a few hours to beat all the way through. There are fun “missions” in the towns, my favorite was always finding all the little kids playing hide and seek. This is also a great game for 2 players because you can actually work together instead of against each other and you can jump in at any time during a stage. Overall this game is exellent! If you like games like mario or zelda, this game is for you. And it is funny! I wholeheartedly recommend it for anyone that has not played it.
