One of the first Xbox games I ever bought as a kid. I am just glad that they made it available for 360 so I can play it all these years later!
What do you get when you mix the game mechanics of GTA, the atmosphere of “The Godfather” and the storyline system of the EA “Spiderman” games? Well, this game comes to mind. Working from rank to rank in this game is one of the most addicting and enjoyable gaming experiences I’ve ever had. The voice acting is stunning, as well as the character animation. The map is simply stunning and never seems to run out… Most of the game is spent traveling from city to city (and there aren’t any load times!!!)I highly recommend this game to any 17+ gamer with a taste for class, action and great gameplay.NOTE TO DISCERNING PLAYERSAs a Christian, I am offended by some of the aspects of this game. Firstly, there is a LOT of killing in a mob context. Secondly, there is just a lot of crime and such presented here. I can’t offer solid answers as to wether or not you will be offended by this game… I can justify it for myself because I think and pray a lot about my game choices, and this one leans on the unrealistic/harmless side. If you’re not offended by standard M rated games like “Stranglehold” “Tony Hawk’s Underground” or “Half Life” you should be fine here.

The Godfather video game tells the tale of a young man that you name, create, and customize as he joins the famous Corleone family of New York to not only raise through the ranks & become a made man, but to seek vengance on the people who brutally murdered his father many years earlier.This game plays like GTA, and by this I mean it’s an open ended game. You can traverse all over a beautifully crafted (and large) New York & New Jersey. You get to do side missions that are covertly named “Favors” and “Hits” where you’ll find yourself doing numerous amount of things like driving someone somewhere to taking out a well armed & protected caporegime from a different family. On top of that you can go and take over rackets, extort businesses (so much fun.. you can bash the owner’s head into a cash register or shoot up his building), bribe police, hire protection, collect film reels which unlock parts of the movie, hijack cars, rob banks, buy safe houses & hotels, blow up 100 safes, participate in boxing matches, hijack racket drug trucks, bomb enemy businesses, perform all executions, earn money as well as respect, and take down enemy warehouses and compounds. On top of all these extras, you have to do the main storyline which takes you through the entire Godfather 1 and beyond In addition to all of that good stuff, you can also buy clothes and mess around with his hair, eye, and facial hair color. For clothes its mainly like suits and stuff… things that people wore back in that ti.
Have this for ps 2, wanted something my husband would play on the X-Box 360. This is awesome.

Its alot of fun being a [not for real] ganster. Lots of action and missions to complete. I’m not a criminal at heart but its fun to be bad in this game. Worth it.
I try not to play too many video games. The Xbox 360 belongs to my kids and I’m generally very busy. I’ve tried several times to stop playing this, and have failed again and again. The game is addicting and the plot is one I can easily understand and follow. I was never really a fan of the movie series, but the game made me one (you can unlock several movie clips).The thing I like most about this game is that you are free to do whatever you want. You can choose to follow the missions, or just roam around the city and make your character more powerful. You can rob banks, extort business owners, gun down corrupt cops (or just bribe them), as well as fight to take over compounds and warehouses belonging to rival families. Needless to say, this isn’t a game for children.There are some annoying things about the game. For instance, you can only hire one person to fight alongside you. That’s really stupid with you think about it. How can two people, even less one, take down an entire family? Also, how can this one person carry so many molotovs, guns, and other weapons in his pockets at once? Wouldn’t he explode if he got shot but once? Also, some of the drives from one town to the next are very, very long. Ok, so maybe I’m being too picky (maybe I’m just too old), but I still think the game is great.
