The 32-bit processing power really helped this game out alot. The sprites (game characters), look as detailed as a PSX sprite game. The level designs are basically the same with better graphics and a few new additions including "biggies", those giant sized characters like the ghosts of Super Mario World. The sound is infinitely better than the old NES soundcard midis.The control is very tight and the control takes a little getting used to not as the player below stated (having to stay in the 25% of the screen), this has always been the case. But the hardware itself is alot different than the NES controller and the screen is wider making compensation a little strange at first. Honestly, I think you will get used to it, I did in about 15 minutes of play I was feeling quite comfortable.You will love this game and F-Zero.
Super Mario Advance for the GBA is an excellent port of the NES classic Super Mario Brothers 2 game. In Super Mario Advance, gamers get to choose from four characters: Mario, Peach, Luigi, and Toad. Each of the characters has their own special strengths and weaknesses. Players get to battle it out through 7 levels and 20 screens in an attempt to get rid of Wart at the end of the game. What makes this game shine are the additions that Nintendo has added to the game. Five special coins have been added to each of the levels that players have to find in order to get a red star for that level. Once all the coins are collected a new challenge of finding two yoshi eggs on each level becomes an option and only then can a player ultimately master the game. Another added feature to this cartridge is a second game, the original Mario Brothers for the Arcade. This is really an added bonus where a single player for up to 4 people can hack it out on the arcade style classic. The added features to each level and the ability to play this game with up to 3 friends is what makes this game a must have in everyone’s GBA library.

I lost this game a long time ago with my GBA advance, i found the GBA but not the game, bought it again, my weekend disappeared playing at this game 10/10

Now I for one didnt care about the original Super Mario Bros 2 for NES because it didnt have any way you could save your progress like you could in Kid Icarus,Metroid and The Legend Of Zelda and the graphics were cardboard. The only thing I liked about that game was the music.I admit I used to have a Game Genie and that accesory made this game a whole lot better but that doesnt count anymore cause theres no way to buy a Game Genie for the original NES anymore. This Advance version is incredible. They made things easier by giving you health hearts for throwing bigger enemies and the graphics are much much better as well. Really,really similar to Super Mario World which is to this day 2 dimensional eye candy. The voices for the bosses are very excellent but the voices for the playable characters are pretty annoying but you tend to tone them out when you get absorbed in the graphics,music and gameplay.I have to admit this game is going to be extra special cool once I get my Game Boy Player hooked up to the Game Cube and its on the television screen.

I am not the biggest fan of Super Mario 2, but this release has so much more to offer! They took the graphics and gameplay from Super Mario All Stars, and added some extra fun to it, with new secrets, new goals, some huge enemies / vegetables, voice-overs for all the characters (even Birdo), more enemies, and more ways of getting hearts. Some parts of levels were even recreated. There are three slots for saved games. There is one downfall though, the height of the screen is not as tall as the original Super Mario 2, so a scroll up / down function was added, which is very distracting. Finally as an added surprise it comes with a classic version of Mario Bros! Very nice detail has been added to the classic and it offers a four-player multi player game. I must admit that the Mario Bros game included is fun, because its different and it even saves your high score.
