My son and I enjoyed playing this.
A must have if you like shooting gamesMany customizations with experience earned during game play
The main characters, the special weapons/abilities each main character possesses, and having the option to play the game in side-by-side co-op make the game Fuse standout from your average third person shooter. The main characters in Fuse are Dalton Brooks, Naya Deveraux, Jacob Kimble, and Isabella “Izzy” Sinclair. Dalton is a former mercenary and the team leader. His special weapon is the Magshield. It can be used as moveable cover, it can also be used a stationary cover by Dalton or any of the other main characters. The magshield can also fire devastating blasts to enemies at close range. Naya Deveraux is a British with daddy issues. Her special weapon is the Warp rifle. Her special ability is to cloak herself which basically means she can go in invisible mode and not be detected by the enemy. This is great for taking out unsuspecting enemy and healing downed team members without drawing attention to yourself. Jacob is a former cop. His special weapon is the Arch shot which is a long range cross-bow that shoots bolts of Fuse-augmented Mercury that ”melts enemies alive.” He can also use his cross-bow to nail enemies to the walls. Izzy is a rebellious young scientist. Her special weapon is the Shattergun which is an assault rifle that encases enemies in crystal for a short time. This gun is highly effective against enemies who use magshields. Her special ability is that she can deploy a Med Beacon that can revive and heal teammates. Together these four outcast.
I played this game fully co-op with my roommate. And it was fun. Every now and again we got our friend to join in via the online play and when we had 3 people going, it was actually a complete blast. With 4 people you know, I have no doubt in my mind that "Fuse" could be an insane amount of fun. The only downer is that it’s only 4-player online co-op, which is such a drag for a game that was literally made for cooperative play. Had it been couch co-op, getting four people in a room together would have been much easier. And while playing with "other" players you don’t know helps, it’s not the same if you don’t know the other players personally. The Xenotech abilities are a lot of fun and despite the limited run of guns, I had no problem committing to the burst shot rifle, "Daybreaker," and headshotting enemies like it’s all I could do. The characters are a bit drab and the graphics could maybe be better, but otherwise the presentation is clean and fun. Menus are easy, learning curve small, can’t really complain technically. The levels are extremely long which was sort of a drag, but by the game’s end we found ourselves actually wishing there was more to go around.Just get two copies; one for you and a friend on one ps3 and another for someone else and his friend. There’s lots of fun to be had that way.
New, factory sealed, arrived before estimated delivery date.
It reminds me a lot like Borderlands 2 with less gun customization but much more powerful, each with their own advantage. Fuse has five chapters that you can play offline or online coop mode, which has a high replay value. I would have rated fuse a 5 if it weren’t for such a short game play with more customizations, less similar looking surroundings and more options in general. I enjoyed the game very much although it was too generic and the plot is lacking, the game play makes up for it. There’s not much people playing coop, every now and then a person would join but it seems like its already dead.
Great game…excellent online private group game play
I spend the bulk of my gaming time playing co-op with friends. When we played Ghost Recon Future Soldier (fffffuuuuuu, 30K), we got away with playing just three of us. I highly recommend you play with the max 4 man squad for this game. Even on normal difficulty there were times when we were really challenged. The game itself is a lot of fun, and I definitely recommend it. The skill tree for each class is pretty linear, but getting team perks adds to that dynamic. Both the main story line and the optional fight-wave-after-wave-of-enemies was a lot of fun, and the latter provides you with cash to unlock the team perks. To sum up, great game but I would not want to play with the AI controlled squad mates
Grat game.
