ive played the demos and got hooked. the game is special its different and it uses sixaxis which is something the xbox doesnt have. i like the game and will probably love it eventually after playing it some more.
I’m a fairly dedicated RPG gamer but like to mix things up a little bit sometimes, even if it takes me off the beaten path in regards to some of my game choices. So, even though it’s a more obscure title, I decided to try Folklore based on a few elements I found intriguing. First off, the overall concept sounded interesting — the idea of multiple realms and the ability to discover and collect different “monsters.” You then use these monsters in your quests. Also, the theme piqued my interest. The two main characters, Ellen and Keats, are separately and mysteriously called to a small town named Doolin and… stuff starts happening. This forces them to examine the somewhat-disturbing history of Doolin and some past events that might even pertain to them. As the game advances, the story is revealed in segments kinda reminiscent of a mystery movie/novel, but with fantasy elements as well as from two different perspectives — Ellen and Keats’. Here are my Pros and Cons lists:Likes / Pros:- Graphics/Art. The art direction (scenes, monsters and visuals) are very cool. I don’t think the graphics are particularly outstanding; I’ve seen better. But the designs and creativity expressed are top-notch. However, there really aren’t a lot of FMVs in this game. Most of the story segments are presented in still-frame images and subtitles. Could be a “con” for some people, but that doesn’t particularly bother me.- Story. The revelation of the story is done very well. Bits of th.
this is a long game with alot to it 4 a true gamer it is good it takes time to play. good graphics and story line fun to play u use the sensors in the controller to play and capture ur new abilities lot o fun
Magic does exist indeed. As seen in the game “Folklore”.”Folklore” is an ethereal journey through the spiritual realms of humans, and creatures far beyond those in complexity of us humans. “Folklore” is a sweeping adventure for all of those magic lovers, and RPG lovers across the world.”Folklore” has a brilliant kind of storytelling in it’s comic strip idea, and it’s awesome visuals. The story is the “main course” of the game, although it is fun to actually play “Folklore” too.”Folklore” is a brilliant adventure that needs to be experienced. I wish more games would take after some of the excellent ideas seen in Folklore.
Just like a wedding, this game has something new, something old… and I forget the rest. It follows the standard RPG gameplay pretty consistantly. The appeal of this game is there are few RPGs for the PS3 so far, this one has a cool story which isn’t set in the typical dragons and wizards realm and it has a “monster catcher” power up system that makes use of the Staxis controller, something that even most action games haven’t really put into use yet. To top it off, you can get this game for cheap now, so you can’t go wrong unless you hate role playing games.
this game is actually pretty fun, though it can get more than a little dark at times, it has kind of a melancholy, shadowed air to it, so i wouldn’t recommend it to someone who wants a light, kind-hearted kind of game. The multiple storyline idea is amazing and is very original.
This game is so much fun, and challenging at some points. I highly recommend this game. Different powers to choose from when you unlock new levels
best video game
Summary: Must have for patient RPG+MonsterCollection fans. Hard to suggest to anyone else.I’ve spent an unreasonable amount of time, but I’m only two thirds of the way through the game.Know that to have a reasonable chance to beat the game, you’ll need to go through every chapter with both characters. Basically be prepared to do everything twice, with slightly different dialogue.Defeating enemies will earn you a special ability. The two characters use each special ability differently, and meet nearly the same roster of enemies. Collecting and upgrading your abilities is really the best part of the game, though time consuming. There are tons of useful abilities to earn.Expect problematic camera angles.
LOVE this game! It’s amazing! Can’t say enough good things about it!
