It was back in 1988, at a New York comic book convention where I first saw the japanese trailer of the original Fist Of The North Star movie. Heads exploding, dudes chopped into piscasso art, dazziling motion effects… it blew my 12 year old mind. I remember thinking that it was a Double Dragon movie but the guy running the trailers, said thats that Fist Of The North Star. Been a loyal follower ever since.Enough fanboy talk, time for a review.This is better than the first one. It follows the manga comic faithfully, except they changed Spade to weld clubs(???) instead of his iron bear claws and Diamond (Joker on steroids) is absent and few other changes but really follows the story of Ken so well. Its like the first Ken’s Rage but the controls are smoother this time, I like that they removed the jump function, I prefer to fight on my two feet and I’m sure Kenshiro does too. You do jump but when prompt to, like jumping over fences or over buildings or to just gain enough height to knock a giant like Devil down. The fighting is like the last one but this is better to digest. Hundreds of thugs and murderers come at you and with the right combo you can annihilate the whole lot sending them back to hell. I love it really; relieves stress when you can slaughter of gang with your bare fists. Boss battles are not too complicated. Just time their attack, dodge and counterattack to leave them open for a signature move, AAAAAAAAAHHH tatatatatatatatatatata ATTAH!! Whats even co.
This is an excellent game to past the time or simply just take your mind off any stressful situation. The graphics are have minor improvements from the Part 1 and the story line is more entertaining than Part 1. There are also new characters to choose from and an expanded storyline.
Fist of the North Star rules. Regardless of any drawbacks, the game is still fun as hell. I completely finished the first one and plan to dominate the second.

If you played the first FOTNS mousou game, you’re probably asking yourself – “should I buy this game?” The answer to that is a resounding YES!But if you’re new to the series – should you give this a try? As a fan of FOTNS I say – yes, but only because the Kenshiro universe is so compelling and this is a great way to really enjoy the complete story of Hokuto No Ken on a console (the last game only featured about half the manga’s timeline).Here’s where the tricky part is – if this was simply another Dynasty Warriors game, I would have given the game a solid 3 stars. Honestly, it is the great storyline that propped up the ratings somewhat, so unless you plan on embracing the Kenshiro saga, or you are already a fan – you’re probably not going to be particularly impressed with the gameplay dynamics.Long story short – the plot follows the epic tale of the game’s main protagonist Kenshiro. The world has been destroyed by a nuclear apocalypse. Now it is ruled by gangs and tyrants, many of them boasting powerful martial arts skills. Ken is the heir apparent to the long line of Hokuto Shinken masters, and the story follows the timeline from when he eventually encounters his adopted brother Raoh in an epic showdown. But the difference here is, whereas the last game ended at this confrontation, FOTNS 2 continues to saga into the second half when he fights in his homeland of Shura and encounters more twists and surprises in the form of his real brothers and eventually side stories.
Actually better than the first one, they fixed many of the issues and speed up the fighting quite a bit. Anyone who loves dynasty warriors and fist of the north-star should get it.

Not sure why this got so many bad reviews, it’s not a bad game. However, be warned, if you don’t like Dynasty Warriors, it isn’t for you. But I have to admit, for a long time fan of the original movie and Manga, it is extremely satisfying.
