the girl loves ff and so i get it for her
Excellent game. It starts off slow and linear but quickly turns that around. Final Fantasy XIII was created to introduce new fans to the series with it’s fast pace combat system.
Final Fantasy X is linear as hell and is praised by many as the best Final Fantasy. The "auto-battle" system is completely optional. What’s people’s problem with this game again? No, it’s not as good as X but is still fun. With the exception of Hope, I enjoyed all the characters. Sure, the story can be melodramatic but again, it’s Final Fantasy, how is that a negative unique to this title? The debate on whether the game is good or whether or not it’s a "true Final Fantasy" is everlasting, apparently.Personally, I think people need to accept that FF7 was good in it’s day but that day has passed. Take off the goggles and give the present a chance (by present, I mean 6 years ago. haha)I enjoyed the combat, characters and story. It’s also, perhaps, the prettiest game on the PS3. Maybe not the best graphics but the prettiest. It also has, in my opinion, the best video game soundtrack ever.
The game came on time and was in perfect condition, It is a very good game and I like the fact that they went back to the old school style of final fantasy (ctb) charge time battle from the better final fantasy. Sweet graphics and a good story.
To start off, it needs to be said I have played EVERY Final Fantasy game since their release. I was around 10 when I started FF1 I and have been a stalwart fan of the series. I haven’t liked all FF’s (i.e. 8 and 12) so I feel I do weigh my perspective with some thought. The best thing I can say about Final Fantasy XIII is that I feel it is a bold step to try to evolve the series with some new elements. Like with any change or evolution of something, you are going to get those that resist change (which you will see in earlier reviews) and others that are for it. As a result, I think FF13 ends up being a love it/hate it game. Where you will end up ultimately depends on how you approach this game.If you come into FF13 with an open mind and a willingness to try something different with no preconceived notions, you could end up being in the love it category. 13 brings with it a great story with a lot of heart and characters you care for. The battle system is refreshing and unique. At first I was slightly hesitant not being able to micromanage my characters, but it ended up being exhilarating. You do have a lot of control over the battle, but control different elements of the battle that many people are not accustomed to. The “Paradigm shift” feature of the game is like a job class for your team of characters rather than individual roles characters play. I enjoy shifting paradigms and trying different strategies in taking down enemies.Outside of the gameplay you are given.
It is a lot of fun, especially the combat system, and offers a ton of play time. It is very linear except the side missions, but honestly there are too many open world games and it was a nice change. My only real complaint is the story. It starts out great, but then as it progresses the characters literally just say “OMG its frustrating having magic powers and having to fight stuff.” over and over and over. Its like someone wrote half a script with a bunch of [Insert dramatic scene showing their frustration] written in it to come back to later then ran out of time and decided they should just say they are frustrated in each one rather than show it. And the ending is really bad.. events just get very random and for the most part unsatisfying.Side quests are also really lame, which is odd considering it is the only open world part. They basically only exist to make you explore. Its all just to go fight some monster, usually its easier and more simplistic than what you fought getting to it as well. They also have really epic fights earlier on in the main story and then those all disappear and the trash becomes harder than bosses. Its hard to take a Fal’Cie as a serious villain when a giant bird is tougher than it.All in all it is a great game, and definitely worth the price now that its an older game. It wouldn’t have been worth it when new though.
I was reluctant to play this game, I was led to believe by seemingly thousands of critics and reviews that this game was absolutely terrible. So bad in fact, that this game was borderline unplayable and should be erased from the collective human memory and dumped in a landfill in New Mexico. That’s what I had gathered from the collective opinion surrounding this game. Everyone tells you about how bad this game is in all its facets. Rarely do you see someone say that they like this game without being showered with criticism. The Good:Let me be blunt: from the production values of this game alone, giving this game less than a 3/5 would simply be a crime. The gameplay is crisp, the music is unique and memorable, and the graphics are eye candy in and out of cutscenes. Give credit where it is due; if you don’t like this game it won’t be because of any of these basic fundamentals of gaming, so giving it a 1 or 2/5 is hating just to hate.Battle system – I have never before seen combat even remotely similar. It is fast paced, tactical, and, once you get the hang of it, extremely rewarding. You only control one character and you can never directly tell your teammates what to do, but this is never a problem. Once the game picks up the pace you’ll be glad you don’t have to switch characters to give orders, and your teammates are VERY good at taking the best action in any given circumstance. In all my hours playing this game, I can confidently say that I never lost because of incompetent.
Great characters, great story, exciting new battle system. The only downside that I can find is that if your party leader gets K.O.’d, it’s game over. It can also be difficult because you can only directly control your party leader, so if you need to use a specific character’s ability or summon, you need that character to be the party leader because there’s no way to ensure that the computer will auto-cast those spells for you. Unfortunately, some of the characters with the most useful abilities are also physically the weakest. For example, Vanille is the only character that can cast Death, but she has thousands of HP less than other characters, so if you’re battling a tough monster (e.g. Ochu), she will probably get K.O.’d a few times, forcing you to start the battle over. I did appreciate that effort was made on the part of the game designers to curb the amount of time needed to level up your characters. For the majority of the game, you don’t need to go out of your way to grind levels. It will level up through normal game play. They also added side quests when the game does slow, forcing you to grind, so that rather than relying solely on random encounters, you can work toward goals which will actually help your characters acquire better weapons and accessories in the process. Overall, I found this game to be enjoyable. I’m finishing up the last of the missions now, then going back to battle the final bosses again.
I really enjoyed this game. The storyline was a bit difficult to follow since it was a transition from reminiscing about the past all the way to the current time. Besides that, the game was great. The characters were absolutely charming and memorable. Probably the best sets of characters that were created in the Final Fantasy series. It was a challenging game in battling and setting up the paradigm. It was almost like a game of chess in which you had to plan and anticipate on how to battle certain boss. I thoroughly enjoyed the new battle system, which was a little different from the typical RPG games.
The disk was not in secured in the case. but there were no scratches on it
