Bought this sealed from Jbs Books brand new. I own this game on multiple systems and will keep this copy sealed and part of my video game collection forever.
If you want the original dub, hilarious bad translations and all, you need to get this version. (Or the greatest hits.)Enjoy classics such as “This guy are sick,” and “Beacause you are… a puppet.” And don’t forget that no one has mouths! No seriously, if you originally played this on PS1 and still have access to that console, no other version will deliver quite the same experience.
One of the best Final Fantasy games ever made has to be Final Fantasy VII. The gameplay has something to offer for anyone who is a Final Fantasy fan. The plot stays rather consistent throughout the game, without sudden random changes that some games you can play has. The characters each have their own unique story, which in time you do get to explore. The graphics, are ancient compared to games that are out on say the PS3, XBOX 360, and so on, but for this particular game, it wasn’t about the graphics. The music for Final Fantasy VII stays completely consistent with the game as well. The score that was done for the game, has a nice relaxing feel to it, and when the heat of battle goes into play the music changes, but very fluidly. Overall this game has really changed the video game world, since its debut in 1997, the game is rated teen for some swearing, I was able to start playing this game when I was 12 when it first came out, and I still play it, and Im 25 now. The overall of this game is amazing, as long as you don’t mind how old this game is.
I never got the chance to play this growing up. I finally went out to buy it to see what all the hype was about, and it took me back to memory lane. I love the soundtrack, and love the overall interactive design. The interaction factor can keep you engaged. The story was always weird to me, and felt like patchwork, but now that I am older and wiser, I can make sense out of it now. After playing through this recently, I can saw that for its time, it may have been seen as the greatest ever, but I have a few grips I don’t like about it. Yet, still it is good game! I played Crisis Core first, so next will be Dirge of Cerebus. To any fan or newcomer to Final Fantasy, such as myself, I highly recommend this game, but you will have to set aside alot of time to get the most out of it.
Sharing with my 12 year old son. He talked junk the whole way home, bashing the "polygon shapes" (his words). He started playing it and fell in love with it. Glad to share history with him.
This game is a three disc rpg turn based game with the best storyline of it’s time. It revolutionized gaming. It literally has weeks worth of playtime value being that you could sit down and play it for weeks on end straight through, non stop and still not do everything there is to do. I absolutely love this game. You find yourself spending so much time playing the characters , that you can’t help but care about what happens next, which is a big kudos to the writers at SquareSoft no SquareEnix. They really know their stuff. I’m not going to say what the game is about, on the off chance that you’ve never played it. I would want to spoil it. I will say be prepared for long hours and late night snacks. I don’t recommend this to anyone who works long hours at a job or around heavy machinery. You tend to daze off thinking about the game when you aren’t playing.
I realized how much I sucked at RPG’s when I beat this game purely by chance but I still love it and think it’s one of the best games in the franchise. The graphics are horrible but being a game from 1997, you can’t really expect them to look much better than the Picasso cubic figures that they are. The animation scenes are fantastic though but that leads me to believe that had they gone to a four disc format like VIII, the gameplay graphics would have been enhanced a great deal. The story is great and just like the other FF titles, the underlying messages are pretty powerful as well. The Final Fantasy games don’t just serve an entertainment purpose but they also try to tell you about important things in the world and life.I hope Square Enix believes FFXV is a better game than VII so that it can finally be remade in HD. FFVII is a classic. Good luck trying to “beat” it. *crosses fingers*
This game is often considered one of the better if not best RPGs of its time. I had owned this game previously and played it till it would no longer work. I buy it again now as a young man and I can say I will play this copy until it has nothing left to give. This game has so many things going for it. There are 9 playable characters that you can build up as you please. The materia magic system is also a great system in that you can only have as many pieces of materia (magic giving items) equipped to your weapon and armor as you have slots on said weapons and armor. This system makes magic a bit more of a balancing act than in previous or future FF games but that adds to the charm of the game. Overall there is so much more to this game than just a cool magic system and playable characters, there is also a great story and solid side quests in this game that can keep people playing. Buy this game.
This is, without a doubt, the hardest game to get a 100% profile on (without cheating). I don’t say that to deter you though! This game is immensely deep. Characters personality are delved into, quirkiness is hidden around every corner, plots dramatically thicken, and the graphics (although blocky) are really good for the time it was made. My only regret with this game is that it doesn’t have a built in journal to keep tack of progress. you have to remember everything you’ve done, and everything you need to do (which is difficult if you take breaks from the game for lengthy periods). I highly recommend for anyone who likes RPG type games!
I absolutely love this game! I’ve never played it before, but I’m glad I finally got around to purchasing this! I didn’t pay the nearly $200 copy, I would assume that was a brand spanking new copy, so I just picked up a used copy, even though I ended up with the Greatest Hits version, which is slightly censored and has more mature parts cut out, unlike the original release which is completely uncensored and uncut, I’m still happy, especially since the previous owner took VERY good care of it as it still looks brand new! I’ll look up those cut parts up later, which I’m pretty sure had absolutely no impact on the story anyway but it would be nice to see everything as intended. Well, I’m about 8 hours into the game and I’m absolutely loving it so far, and since this is a JRPG, I know I’m just getting started! :)
