For a remake its good to know that you will get surprises from the new story added and the cinemas making me play the game again, but the slowdown from spells is a little dissapointing, the price the have to pay for a big game in a small system
Very nice and very good …
This game has been one of my favorites since 1990 something. I’m glad they chose to port this timeless clasic from the ps1 to psp. The graphics are smaller and kinda blurry and take a little while to get used to if you’ve played the original but the plane of veiw is much larger to accommodate for psps panoramic display screen. On the plus side they did add some beautiful cell shaded and sketches cutscenes between certain main events. They also added two new classes that I know of including the onion knight at squire and chemist level 6 who has no abbilities or moves but can equipt anything regardless of class. They also added the dark knight class which I haven’t achieved yet but requires master level knight and black mage to unlock. Once you get to chapter for I suggest you look up what events to trigger to find cloud and get him to join your party and where to find his blade as long as you have Mustadio in your party. They also added two player link for exclusive coop missions and vs. which I have yet to try. Overall a great game that will burn hours of your life away with tremendous replay value.
This game is pretty cool. Although you may not be stunned by the graphics, the storyline and content will make you addicted. This game is the best one in all of PSP gaming history so far…
The opening sequence is a delight. Fans will appreciate the new cutscenese but may be a bit put-off by the newly translated names and diologue. I love it! Have not had a chance to try the wifi yet, looking forward to it however.
In my opinion Final fantasy Tactics was one of the best games released on the Playstation one, and best rpg released on that platform. The PSP re-release adds anime style cutscenes and new classes, but leaves the gameplay and story untouched from the original release.Definitely worth playing for anyone who enjoys RPGs and Strategy games, and revisiting for anyone who had played the original release.
This was such a weird game. Exactly like FF: Tactics, but with item and other names slightly changed. Marsh became bog, and then bog was marsh. I don’t get the point.
In a strange way, one could say that the original Final Fantasy Tactics was sort of the middle child of the Playstation era, sandwiched between the massive Final Fantasy VII and its heavily-hyped Final Fantasy VIII. Many found the story intriguing but translation shoddy, gameplay addicting but frequently hard and the music was praised as well though done by someone other than Uematsu. As part of the “Ivalice Alliance” compilation, Square decided to revisit the original and do some touchups and upgrades. This isn’t an entirely redone game but rather it’s remastered shall we say and while it does have its occasional flaws, it was actually the reason why I bought a PSP in the first place.Story: Not to get too story-heavy since it’s engrossing but complicated to know where to start, the game centers on the world of Ivalice and the conflict as to what to do about the recently available throne. 2 warring factions sought after the title to be king until history records show a young man named Delita Heiral was the hero that stopped the conflict, though there was also a young man named Ramza Beoulve that also had a hand but why is his name not mentioned in the records and what came about that brought the war to an end?Graphics: The in-game graphics during battle and cutscenes don’t really look any different than before. There’s a degree of sharpness that I can tell is changed but the sprites don’t look like much has changed. Where the game excels is the animated cutscenes that remind.
One of my favorite games of all time, best played when you have nothing but time because battles can be as long as you make them and it’s fun to play with your enemies before crushing them.
FF:T is a rare example of a truly brainy game. Neither quick reflexes nor level grinding will help you; you have to be clever. So much so that despite its near perfect execution FF:T certainly isn’t for everyone. This is a game for the thinker, the long-term planner and the patient tactician. Depending on how well you plan your character builds, it can be impossibly hard or surprisingly easy, and there are innumerable ways to develop them. Even the plot is demanding; its complexity is on par with that of the Wars of the Roses on which the game’s story is clearly based.Consider this both a recommendation and a warning. I first played the PS1 version of FF:T in my early teens and was decidedly underwhelmed. Being used to simpler, story-driven JRPGs such as Final Fantasy and Suikoden I was both confused with the interface and frustrated by the battles, while the plot seemed about as engaging as a history syllabus. Needles to say I quickly dismissed it. When I picked up this remake about a year ago I was a great deal more mature; I patiently sat through the long tutorial, I learned the motions and was rewared with one of the best strategy games ever made. The story, once I was able to appreciate it, was one of the most mature and intelligent stories ever put out by Square. As for whether to play to remake or the original, it’s hard to decide on a definitive version but personally I could never go back to the latter after War of the Lions. The remake features a new script of shakes.
