This is the best FIFA since 1997!!! It has a whole new game engine, and it realy gets close to the real sport. The passing, defending and even shooting is very well recreated. Your player will only shoot if the ball is close to his feet, just the way it is supposed to be! The defense is great, the final scores are usualy 2-1 or 2-3 at the most, like the real sport. The drawbacks: NO COSTUMIZATION. You’re unable to create custom teams or custom formations. Also some of the world’s best clubs are not available like Argentina’s Boca Jr. And also some big absents like Holland in the country teams. It would have been nice to have all of these features available in the other EA titles.
i recently upgraded from the ps2 to an xbox and this was the 1st game i bought. my roommate walked in and thought i was watching a game on television – the graphics are quite impressive. gameplay and ball control is definitely more lifelike. when i first played on default settings, i got beat 1-0! i was expecting to walk out and romp all over the computer using my old fifa 2002 skills. this game is definitely a step up on realism. i was quite impressed with difficulty in controlling the ball when running the ball. also thankfully they’ve gotten rid of the ability to basically walk thru people using angles. the only thing i’d like is more customability. you can’t create your own players/teams. also i’d love to see EA bring over an indepth Franchise Mode (ala Madden 2003) with computers making transfers on their own, players retiring, signing new players, players attributes inc/decreasing based on performance, etc. but those are just my petty complaints though. the game overall is very impressive and still the defining soccer game out there.
Take it from me, an older gamer that appreciates a good value, this is a great game. The action flows smoothly, the controls are on target, and the graphics are very appropriate for this genre of gameplay. The two player format is excellent, as FIFA 2003 is an exciting and fast-paced title that can provide hours of competitive play. I’ll be the first to admit that I am not the most knowledgeable when it comes to global soccer or futbol leagues, but there are PLENTY of talented teams to choose from (so don’t be fooled by the reviewers who complain about “limited” team selection).Bottom line: This is one of the most complete sporting titles that I have ever had the pleasure of playing. Buy it because it is a great soccer game, and you won’t be disappointed…
This is a very good game, it is more challenging than the 2002 one. The players do look better, but the thing I hate is they have the MSL, which is way less popular than the Mexican soccer league ten times. If this league was included the game would sell about 20 times as much. They did a good job in translating the game into spanish, but they just need that little detail in order for me to give it a five star.It is a great game though and I can’t complaint about that.
Game play–flat out the best of any soccer game for any platform.Club Teams–It has 14 different leagues, 13 Euro plus K-League. Season modes incorporate Champions League and Cup games. Most up to date and extensive rosters let you call up reserves.Graphics–player movement and look far exceed WC2002. Amazing detail right down to selecting the actual home, away, 3rd jersey of your team.Best soccer game…period.
Fifa 2003 is also out on Playstation 2, and like XBox it is an Amazing game. The graphics are good and it’s very interactive. On the whole it is a VERY entertaining game. Just a side note: we bought the fifa 2003 for PC first and it’s horrible. We have a brand new computer that had almost quadruple the requirements and it wouldn’t play as promised…there are hundreds of complaints about it on easports.com…But! It is worth every cent on PS2 on X -Box
Wonderful graphics with realistic player movement. One of the most beautiful sports games out there. Only criticism — what happened to the classic teams, like ’58 Brazil, that were available on previous FIFA versions? It’s the only thing that prevented me from giving five stars. Other than that, a terrific game.
I"m a big soccer fan, and FIFA 2003 is awesome. My only complaint is that Ally McCoist, (hope I spelled it right). His accent can be difficult to understand at times. John Motson was much clearer to understand. Could be dialect thing or something. LOL. Anyway, great job as always. Keep up the good work
I love this game. No, I LOVE THIS GAME. It is by far the best soccer simulation available. However, there is one major issue that I think should still be shored up. I believe that the defenses for all teams across the board should still be tightened up so that scoring is further limited. Even on the world class mode, I can outscore Brazil with the U. S. team 5-3 or 6-4. This is with 10 minute halves!!! I think that the goal keepers and defensemen should be sharper than they are. I do concede that they are much better than in previous games, but they can still be tougher to score on. It seems that the computer A. I. makes up for falling behind by making it easier to score, but I think that the game should always be tough to score on as it is. Other than the need to tighten up the defense, I think this game is OUTSTANDING. I play it all the time, and I can’t put it down.
