Fear Effect is excellent! The graphics are fun, the storyline is great, the gameplay is exciting… It is the best game I have played in a while.THE DOWNSIDE: The game has very little replay value, and it is not very long. It only took a few hours to beat. The game IS fun, though — once I beat it, I went right back to play through in Hard Mode. After that, though, there was nothing more to the game.VERDICT: You should definitely rent this game if it interests you at all (you will not be disappointed). I would not recommend buying it, though.
I played this game years ago on the playstation console and absolutely loved it. Now i have a ps2 and bought Fear Effect after all this time; I have no regrets. The storyline is well plotted and the game play is challenging, smooth, entertaining and makes you think therefore this game is not for the weak minded, impatient gamer. The fear meter is a much welcomed attribute which adds a bit of reality and challenge as opposed to the traditional health bar and the ability to play with 3 different characters throughout the plot makes it a fascinating journey.I label Fear effect as a game only a true gamer can appreciate, so if you are all about quick play, easy gaming and have little ability or desire to use a bit of brain power then this game is not for you but if you’re up for challenges, are patient and possess appreciation for this type of experience then its definitely a good buy.
Over all the game itself is good and nothing is wrong with it. Everything is in good condition so happy with it.
This game most definetly kept me out of trouble for a while. I picked up the game at random and to my surprise, I finally got a really decent and GOOD game to play. The puzzles were frequent and some quite challenging. The characters are most pleasing to look at and listen to, especially the girls.I have played all of Eidos’ Tomb Raders and hoped that Eidos stuck to its form of a good game to enjoy.Would like to have information on others very similar to FEAR EFFECT so that I continue to choose good games and keep out of trouble.The character’s behaviors, looks,& movements are pleasing. The grafics relating to the scenes surrounding the characters are really terrific. FEAR EFFECT 2 is truly great to play. I’m hoping that Eidos continues the FEAR EFFECT series. This would make me a very happy person. It is hard to find a really, really good and decent game such as FEAR EFFECT.I had a difficult time quiting the game to do something else or to get to bed. I would stay up half way through the night playing the game. Needless to say, the girls also were up because I had a hard time putting the girls to bed. Hana & Rain didn’t look like they lost any sleep on my account.I want more games like FEAR EFFECT. I didn’t want the game to end and was lost once it was over.
This game has everything. Great dialogue and speech (unlike Final Fantasy), hard and taxing puzzles (unlike Resident Evil), hard and challenging bosses (again, unlike Resident Evil) and an amazing, complex, adult storyline. This is more like a movie. The twists of the story, I won’t give them away, are great and it is one of few Playstation games that offers a good challenge. It is Resident Evil style but Res Evil is much too easy and the dialogue in the cut scene is bad. In FEAR EFFECT the cross between FMV and active play is created well and there is no significant change in graphics. It is a great game, long (4 discs), challenging with both puzzles and bosses and packed with action. If you liked Res Evil, BUY THIS!!!!!
Don’t let those negative reviews fool you, this is a good, addicting game, worthy of the stars I gave it. It’s difficult, but gets easier when you realize it can’t be played as a straight action game, but more as a strategy game, stick to it past the beginning and you will enjoy the game I think. Learn to use the way the figures move, learn to always keep loading your guns, and man, save your game as much as possible, even if it means backtracking. People complain about having to learn how approach this game by dying too much, but personally it just added to the challenge. I can tell you from experience that when you get through a tough fight using your wits, not just fast thumbs, it feels pretty good. Can you keep your heart rate green? Who knows…..but it’s fun trying. This game is not for kids under 16 years old in my opinion, so if you’re a parent, get it for yourself, not your kids.
