I purchased him seven games, as he is a new PS4 owner/player. All the games I got him were rated highly. He cannot stop talking about this particular game – graphics, gameplay, etc. he also remarked that it was not a "well known" game, and is planning on telling all his friends about it.This game makes a great gift. I’m too old to play games myself, so sorry I can’t do better on the review. Five stars for the excitement my son feels, despite the fact this game is not as expensive as many are. Hope this helps someone out there.
There’s nothing more fun and exciting than having a bear or elephant kill your enemies and then figuring out that that wasn’t the smartest choice when you have the wild animal running towards you and tackling you Dicaprio style. The game is beautiful and there’s always something to do even if you’re lost; if you end up doing side quests, even those feel as important as the main story.
This game is insane. I’ve never played it before, and at first it can be overwhelming due to the sheer amount of stuff in it. Not only maps are immense, the amount of skills and weapons to unlock is huge. Collect plants, loot, skin animals, craft stuff, disable towers, remove propaganda posters, I mean… there’s so much stuff to do, I think this game is endless offline, and it’s probably mind boggling online (I haven’t even tried yet). Drive trucks, ATVs, fly delta wings, walk, run, grapple, swim, there are endless ways to go places and achieve objectives which are, of course, dynamic depending on what you chose to do. For the price, this is the cheapest price per hour of entertainment you can get from a game, if shooters is your preference, with a hint of puzzles and a steady learning curve. Enjoyable so far, I had to stop playing after getting sick of wandering around villages in some 3rd world hell hole, but that’s the way the game is. Very well made, fun to play and it keeps you in a learning curve for a while, with lots of new things to find and figure out.
I been running this game on the ps3 for a long while. I must say these Far Cry series get better with every one. I do like that the weapons are things I can understand. I figure out what I want to do, and no giant monsters that I have to figure out how to kill a dozen times. Nothing comes back from the dead behind me. It’s fairly straight forward. Take control of land, get rid of bad guys.
I love playing single-player open-world games: I get to decide where to go, when to go, how to go, and what to do when I get there (e.g. Skyrim, Dragon Age, SoM, Diablo, etc.) vs. those on rails like MW, CoD, etc. where your going from A to B to C to…so on until there was a predictable outcome (or an obvious hook for a future DLC or release.) Ubisoft almost always (sorry: AC IV/Unity – yikes :( ) publishes phenomenally polished and environmentally rich games (see: AC III Black Flag). It’s definitely a shoot-and-looter, but Kyrat’s geography (think the high jungles on the India/Nepal border) is by far the best I’ve yet to play. That, combined with being able to play it seems a near-endless variety of mission types (from stealth to hijacking to assassination to capture the flag); operate a nearly endless variety of vehicles (ATV, pickup, dive bombing baddies from a gyrocopter, parachute, wingsuit, dune buggy, hovercraft, zodiac, hang-glider, etc.) each with their unique and realistic physics; being attacked by and hunting wild boar, bears, dogs, wolves, badgers, crocs, yaks, leopards, eagles, and Bengal tigers; climbing/repelling shear cliffs; swimming in/under man-eating fish infested rivers; and even puttng a big grin on your face when riding an elephant to bash baddies and their technicals flying into the air. You have available dozens of different weapons to choose and use – even the super-stealthy bow and arrow or crossbow to a one-handed grenade launcher. (For me,.
I am updating my review of this game after having played through it three times. I am not a big console gamer and my comments will be most relevant to others in that same boat. If you are someone who doesn’t play games a lot and doesn’t fully understand the game "lingo" found in other reviews, maybe this will help you. There are a few spoilers, but nothing major (I won’t ruin it for you) and most of them are what you will experience in the first 15 minutes of the game. I should point out that I have not played any of the previous FarCry games.I should state that I am biased towards open-world games, which means there is a huge world that you get to wander around in and explore. The gamers call this a "sandbox". I eventually got around to the actual story and doing the missions, but I do like to just wander and do my own thing. Because of this I am also biased towards single-player games rather than playing with others online. This particular game allows for both, but I have no experience or desire for playing the online side. This game is complete and satisfying as a single player game. This game is 1st person, which took some getting used to. Other open-world games that I have played (Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption) are 3rd person where you see the character in front of you. But you don’t actually see the character in this game, but rather you see the world through his eyes; occasionally catching glimpses of his hands and feet. One thing that I don’t li.
Ehhhhhh Far Cry 4 is alright. Endless possibilities of stuff to do, similar like the last one. My main complaint about this game is the motion sickness it causes. The Far Cry series are the only games that I have ever came across that cause me to get sick. I use MotionEaze before I play, making it perfectly manageable. I admit that I get tired of this game very easily… I’ve currently been much more hooked on Dragon Age: Inquisition and a replay of GTA5 (mixed in with some Destiny multiplayer). As far as I can see the story is a little bit weaker than Far Cry 3. Even though its repetitive this is still a wonderful FPS placed in a beautiful world full of interesting characters and intimidating villains. Solid 4/5
This was my first entry into the Far Cry franchise and I am totally impressed with this game. Like may others I am also a huge fan of the Fallout and Elder Scrolls series. I ordered FC4 about a year ago and spent many many hours playing. The open world is engaging, the game play is just challenging enough, and I enjoyed the story line. I liked this so much I went back and bought FC2 and FC3. Ubisoft has already released Far Cry Primal at the time of this review. I get the jokes/complaints about the similarities between the other Far Cry games, but I’m still looking forward to the next release.
This arrived on time and package well. My 17 year old son got this and says he wants it rated a 5 star. So I’m guessing he really likes playing this game lol.
Overall a good game but it has numerous programming flaws. Example: I killed everyone at the Ratu Gandhi fortress but the game didn’t give me credit for the victory. I walked around inside the compound for 30 minutes looking for a survivor that might be preventing me from taking the fortress for the Golden Path but there was no one. I shelled the entire compound with mortar fire… no one was there to die. I flew over the compound in a buzzer, no red dots on the map to indicate enemies. Ratu Gandhi should have been mine but instead the next time I went there, all the soldiers were back. Because of a serious programming flaw, taking the fortress was a complete waste of time.
