A must have movie
Classic early SiFi,effects amazing for the time
Grew up watching this movie as a kid. At the time, it was light years ahead of anything out that remotely tried to cover this topic. The special effects were cutting edge and the movie just blew me away. Years later, at age 52, this movie still holds my captivation with "how in the world did they ever film that!!?" type moments. A must have in the library, glad I found it on retrolio. Love it!!!
Bring back memories of my childhood. Saw this in the theaters.
Right on the money and quick delivery. Very much appreciated.
Great movie and quality copy!
Great effect before CGI. A wild ride.
Tense sci-fi thriller. The cold war has produced a new weapon: miniaturization. The problem is both sides have it and neither side can control it, objects return to normal size after one hour. A scientist working for the other side has discovered a way to keep objects miniaturized until the process is reversed but has defected to our side so we can have it. After getting him safely into the US the car he is in is ambushed and he is injured and in a coma with an inoperable brain clot. The only way to save him is by miniaturizing a special submarine with a medical crew and pilot and injecting it into his body. So begins our ‘Fantastic Voyage’ into the human body and its unknown wonders and dangers but, a series of ‘accidents’ start to plague the crew – is it just bad luck or, is there a saboteur among them? With time running short can they complete the mission or will they fall prey to the body’s defenses or their unknown saboteur? An excellent cast and ‘state-of-the-art’ special effects for the time which won an Oscar® this film is worth a watch and the Blu-Ray is crisp, clear and bright. For those who complain about the fuzzy, soft focus look of the scenes inside the body, these were part of the ‘optical effects’ not a problem with the film or transfer. A remake using today’s state-of-the-art digital effects has been in pre-production hell forever and if any film deserved such treatment this would be it.
Loved it! Perfect movie for kids interested in nanotechnology!
