So I’m a major die-hard Silent Hill fan, as many of you guys are as well. Anyone who has looked into the HD Collection knows that this game has had some…shall we say harsh reviews. When I first discovered this Remaster I was so excited to buy it as soon as I saw it, but before I did I researched it and came to find that it was notoriously a broken piece of trash. This crushed my heart, as it did so many others. When this game was first released there was a day one patch, which says a lot. I mean, if a game comes out and it AUTOMATICALLY has an update patch before you can play it that’s when you know something’s wrong. Turns out this game was released out of pure laziness. It came with lots of freezing, sound glitches, subtitle/dialogue lag, bugs, and errors galore! After hearing about all of its faults I waited more than a year before I broke down and bought it. I bought this December 2014, and it got here very early and after reading that it was improved I had high hopes! After admiring the beautiful artwork of the cover, I popped in in my PS3 and booted up Silent Hill 3, my personal favorite game out of the SH series. Let me tell you something, it works (for me) almost flawlessly. I am almost 6 hours into the game (only at the hospital right now because I take my SWEET time in games like these, especially because every corner of this game is nostalgic for me and I am greedy and want every single door opened and every supply found) and so far it has ran almost perfectly. I.

This is the first time for me to play SH being a fan of the classic Resident Evil. I heard so much about 2 and 3 that I had to get this. Actually this game is a lot scarier than RE and without cheesy dialogue.I have read that there are some problems with cut-scenes, frame rate, etc. I have no doubt of these issues but so far no problems. I just installed it today on PS3 along with the patch and things are smooth so far for both games.As I play some more I will update this review. For those having problems maybe Konami has fixed them. Hope the gameplay will improve for everyone so they will enjoy these titles whether or not it’s their first time playing.If I do run into problems I will change my review and ratings.
The Silent Hill HD Collection includes both 2 and 3 released in HD on one disk. Not a terrible HD port, but so far it’s been misleading because the games don’t run smooth. The patch Konami released didn’t fix much, and I was wondering if Konami was going to try to fix the problem by releasing a patch that actually fixes the lag problem and audio sync issues. Although this has yet to be seen, Konami has just recently issued a patch to fix these problems and it will be coming in a couple weeks. Also, Downpour gets a patch at the same time.Overall I recommend the purchase of this, but as of today (April 25th), there’s massive slowdowns while running in the streets of Silent Hill. Lets hope the new patch will get released soon and fix the problems.
i remember beating silent hill 2 and that put two silent hills in my reporeture the most classic game i have ever played
I have really wanted to play Silent Hill 2, but could never find a cheap PS2 copy. So this is the next best thing to get. I recommend trying it out if you don’t have the money for a PS2 copy. If not you can always just watch it online on YouTube.
I was hesitated to purchase this game due to the bad reviews, but this game works fine to me, so no complains :)
