Excellent game! A mix of Zombie Game, an RPG, Grand Theft Auto & Call of Duty. The Story, Quests and Side Quests are all fun. Realistic fighting and interesting environments makes for a very challenging but extremely fun game. From Act I to Act IV.Another great feature, you can play with up to 3 other players online at anytime at any point in your or their story. 4 different characters to choose from(5 if you have Ryder White DLC,) Each with their own strengths and weaknesses.A HUGE part of the game is Weapon modification, it lets you do some pretty cool stuff with almost all of the seemingly 100s of individual weapons. Poison, Super Heat & Electric shock. Plus in the Greatest Hits edition you get the DLC which includes a special Weapon Mod and new character for story mode with an extended storyline.This game is one of the best I’ve played in years. Truely one of the best Fighting RPGs (what it essentially is) since the original NES classic, the Legend of Zelda, no joke!
This zombie game is everything I expected it to be and more. I love the gameplay, the graphics and the story all align to form a perfect example of horror and action. They really hit the nail on the head with this release. You really care about the character you play and the RPG aspect of the game is flawless. Leveling up is satisfying and crushing a zombie’s head in with a wrench is even more satisfying. I highly recommend this game to anyone who loves zombie, action, horror or someone who just wants to explore a new type of game. Not for kids, this game will take you on a journey through a paradise filled with guts and gore. Action packed and legitimately scary at times, this title will keep you on the edge of your chair for hours. Especially during those dark moments in the game where you have to navigate through the blackness with your flashlight. Very fun, very satisfying and this game has tons of online features to mess around with. I do not currently play online but the co-op looks awesome. If you love zombies, post-apocalyptic adventures and RPGs, this game is for you.

Good game if you buy it cheap. There’s a lot of monotonous walking back and forth, but always run into enemies to fight. Weapons get destroyed easily, gets annoying. No real storyline. And none of the human characters I interact with will look at me. They just stare at the ground. Unsettling. Good time waster, tho.

Got this for myself and my younger sisters. Love the game. We can’t wait to get our hands on Dead Island 2!Gameplay:Much like Left 4 Dead, there is a constant flow of zombies. There are also some mutated zombies that have different abilities/strengths. The difference is this game has the main mission as well as a ton of side missions. The side missions are optional, but you’ll find yourself doing a few no matter what. The weapons break in this game, but the game included a workbench where you can repair or even upgrade you weapons. You can also collect blueprints to create custom weapons, like a baseball bat with nails sticking out of it. Overall a very fun game!

I had been looking for some time for a multiplayer game (including co-op campaign) that my teenage son (he’s old enough!) and I could enjoy playing together on our two Xbox 360s (both of which are setup in our living room). We tried Left 4 Dead 2, for example, and although it is mostly fun, it gets kind of tedious, as it isn’t really open-world. As another (non-zombie) example, we also tried Gears of War 3, and just didn’t really like it. Regular first person shooter games are just too hard and tedious, for me.So I read about Dead Island, and ordered two copies. This game does not disappoint – the multiplayer campaign is simply brilliant. First, it is an open world design, so you can explore and take your time, killing zombies along the way. There are optional small missions that are not part of the main story. And, get this – in multiplayer, you and whoever you’re playing with can be doing completely separate things (in completely different places!) at the same time, if you want. This was great, as sometimes I just like to spend time poking around and looking for stuff, while my son would go off and do an optional mission. And then we’d get back together to do the main missions together.Also note that, even if you do a mission separately, both players get the reward – the other player just needs to go back to the character that handed out the mission to get it.We’ve since completed the game, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is exactly what I was looking for – and it is rare th.
