Bought this for PS3 but was sent the wrong one for XBOX instead, so I cant fairly review the contents. But I love Fallout 3.
If you like fallout you’d love this ad-ons, adds more quests and weapons for more hours of gameplay
Broken steel is the best dlc ever! It raised the level cap and put in some new kickin perks. Point Lookout seems very intimidating to me.
These are the two best expansions for Fallout 3. These play the most like the rest of the game, allow you to continue after you beat the main game and boost the level cap to 30. You can’t go wrong.
The add on was a fun and welcome addition to the Fallout 3 game, it breaks a little from the “norm” of the game and was a fun addition that helped break up a rather long game (I played the point lookout in the middle of fallout 3. Overall I would rate it a solid 5 out of 5.
These are by far the two greatest add-ons to Fallout 3. Even aside from continuing the story, raising your level cap to 30 as opposed to 20, and the Tesla Cannon, Broken Steel is just fun. You raid the crap out of the Enclave and loot a ton of weapons and armor, then blow the place up. (or you can choose to blow up Megaton or The Citadel, to name a couple) And as far as Point Lookout, it’s basically a little swamp version of the Wasteland we’ve come to know and love. Oh and you can go back and forth from Point Lookout to the Wasteland freely (Have to go solo though, which is kind of lame when you’ve grown accustom to an intellectual super mutant following you around [Fawkes is just my favorite follower]) Anyway, this add-on rekindled my appreciation for this game, and I would highly recommend it to anyone that has Fallout 3. If you don’t have Fallout 3 yet, just wait until the game of the year edition is out which will have all of the add-ons.
Nice
In my review for the game itself, I stated how I felt the maximum level of 20 was absolutely ridiculous as you can easily achieve this level VERY early in the game. My other criticism pertained to the “good” ending where, unlike in other roaming RPGs such as Fable II, ends the game prematurely preventing you from going back to explore the rest of the wasteland. Not anymore!Broken Steel continues the story with a three primary quests and then allows the player to free roam afterwards. The level cap has also been raised from the low level of 20 to a not-so-low level of 30. This does present a problem for gamers that have beaten all the dungeons before installing Broken Steel as the expansion does not have enough quests to reach the level cap. However, that is where Point Lookout comes in, but more on that later.Similar to previous expansion packs, such as Operation Anchorage and The Pitt, Broken Steel includes new and powerful weapons such as the Tesla cannon *evil grin*.A lot of these features, most notably raising the level cap and the divergent “good ending,” should have been in the original Fallout 3 game to begin with as it will cost the player however much money to purchase this expansion. However, Bethesda makes up for the cost with a few more entertaining side quests and another much needed expansion.Enter Point Lookout.Within the first hour of exploring Point Lookout, I scavenged more weapons, heal items, ammo, grenades, and various knick knacks (including a Swiffe.
Great new scenarios that will bring hours and hours of fun. The new “hunt” scenario is fun
After countless hours of playing and blood shot eyes i actually ran out of things to do. With the addon pack its a nice refresher to the epic game.
