Morrowind is by far the best game of it’s age, and one of the best games of all time. Morrowind set for the pace for future Elder Scrolls games and RPGs in general. The map is immense, it’s easy to get caught up just wandering around taking in all the caves, mountain paths, ruins, etc. The combat system is a little dated, but it’s not really an issue. You have the choice of 10 races when you make a character: Argonians: Lizard people from the swampy Black Marsh, especially skilled at Athleticism, and favoring spears. Bretons, a breed of human and elf hybrids from High Rock, which makes them great mages, particularly in more defensive magic such as shielding and healing. Dark Elves, the natives of Morrowind, capable in combat and magic equally, preferring light armor and swords. High Elves, the proud and tall people of the Summerset Isle, and fantastic mages, particularly in a more offensive style. Imperials, the cosmopolitan race from Cyrodiil, and gifted diplomats and strategists, but also fine fighters. Khajiit, the cat people of Elsweyr, are great at stealth and acrobatics as well as capable fist fighters. Nords are the fair haired people of Skyrim, and are powerful warriors. Orcs, the green skinned mer from Wrothgarian and the Dragontail Mountains, are fierce warriors that favor heavy armor and large weapons. Redguards are the dark skinned peoples of Hammerfell, and are very capable fighters. And Wood Elves, the elves of Valenwood, are excellent at stealth and ambush, par.

I received the platinum hits edition not the original game. The label was inserted into the plastic sleeve the wrong way so that the case opened weird but that’s ok, I just flipped the paper around. No book or map, but the disk is flawless and has no scratches. I should have been made aware that I was getting the platininum hits version though.
I’ve only had this game for a short time but the play and quest are as good as any elder scroll .
