I just bought this game today (not from retrolio, though. A used copy costs the same here in town as it does on retrolio, so I figured I might as well get it locally.) and, so far, I’m really enjoying it. I’ve been looking for a good Bible-inspired game where I can play as a Holy warrior and this is definitely the game for me!
I "platinum-ed" this game. A game has to be awesome for me to go into OCD mode and go for the plat. So let me start. The story of Enoch is really good to begin with. It fits a video game arc epically. The visuals are stunning, the art direction is very interesting. It’s a fighting game in pastel colors. The sound is atmospheric and helps the immersion. The level design is linear, but the levels have several secret areas. The gameplay is a combination of platforming and fighting, mostly in 3D with some 2D sections in most levels. Platforming sections move you through the diverse levels and between arena type areas where the fighting takes place. A throw back to old school games, not too difficult but challenging. Then there is the fighting! At first, the fighting seems really simple, but it’s not. There is only 1 attack button, jump, steal weapon, block and fix weapon buttons. Simple, but you can still pull a few combos this way. The beauty of it: you really get used to applying most of them, not just your favorite one. Then, there is weapon stealing. You start unarmed and can punch and kick, but if you plan to survive, you can steal 1 of 3 weapons form staggered enemies. The weapons have a rock, paper, scissors system which makes you think about the order in which to take on your foes. Weapons degrade quickly too: you can fix them at anytime ( exposing yourself and breaking your combo) or steal another weapon. Then, the combos, which are there for three reasons. 1 for.
Excellent! Great Game! one of the Best games ever about Faith and God!
Awesome love it Very good service!THANK YOU
The basic storyline for El Shaddai is you play as Enoch, a priest sent by heaven to seek out seven fallen angels who have abandoned God and fled to Earth to capture them before God floods the Earth. The story can be very confusing throughout the game and I wasn’t sure what was going on for a lot of the game but it’s the music and the visuals that make this game shine.El Shaddai is visually stunning and different than any other game I have played before which caught my attention. Each level’s design changes drastically and never left me bored with what I had to look at. The music is very good as well.Combat is hack and slash in the same vein as God of War, Dante’s Inferno, and Devil May Cry but more simple. You start the game off barehanded and gradually get three different weapons to steal from enemies. Attacking is about as simple as it comes since you just have one button to press and then can do two different moves with each weapons which just involve a press of two buttons. To become effective at combat you have to time your button presses and make sure you are using the correct weapon since each weapon has a weakness to a different one. You can of course go through the entire game and try sticking to your favorite but combat will take longer that way.Overall I would say the game was worth the purchase and would recommend it to people who are interested in something different to play. The visuals and music are both stunning, game play is fun and can be challenging.
it’s ok
Hey, this isn’t SUPPOSED to be a game that’s going to lead to 20 spin-offs and a feature film. It’s an oddball, trippy, easy-to-play, VERY PRETTY game that while I am not compelled to play for hours on end like Call of Duty, is just great for a late night when I want something kind of relaxing, quiet, and thoughtful. The combat is simple – and in the end, if you keep it on “easy” settings you can just reincarnate every time you croak till the boss is dead- but having played video games for 35 years now I appreciate not having to go through a level 50 times just to get the exact timing right on a boss. The story is cool, biblical in scope, and a lot deeper than it seems at first. There aren’t a whole lot of things to acquire, change, no leveling up, no customizing anything, but ya know what? I LIKE IT for that reason. It’s simple and pretty and I’m in love with it for that. I’m not saying that I wish every game was like this, but it’s a GREAT change from the usual complicated games out there.
I’m playing through my 2nd time now. I loved it, and when you play on hard mode you’ll see that the combat is not simple. You’ll have to parry, counter and time your dodges just to survive.
With a complete lack of action games this year, El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is a deep breath of fresh air. The graphics are amazing, as I’m sure plenty of the other reviews can tell you. The music is superb, the story is decent enough, all it really does is move the game along, which for me personally, is all a story in a videogame has to do, so this is a matter of personal taste. The combat system is simple, but there’s a certain complexity to it (that you better learn if you intend to play the harder modes of this game). You can most likely beat Normal/Easy by simply button mashing, but there’s a rhythm system in place that changes the types of attacks Enoch performs (kind of like weak and strong attacks in a GoW game, just implemented into one button instead of two). On top of that there’s counter attacks, perfect guards, and overboost mode. What was once simple is now somewhat complex. Whether you’re looking for a new action game to master, or just want to enjoy a visual explosion, El Shaddai is one of those games you will wanna check out.
This game captures an art style and disjointed form of play that is loved by many. Not the best game to get started on gaming with, but certainly has its merit. The continuity can be a bit confusing at times, but overall, quite a fun game.
