Great game
Absolutely amazing, it has this feeling that you wont get from modern fighting console game. That maybe more developers should look at this and bring back some old mechanics. Probably the best part of this game is all the great unlock ables you can obtain, such as characters and costumes, of course the best character unlockables would have to be the FF7 characters Square Soft added. On top of that you get a decent RPG that is very fun and rewarding. Last but not least you get these several mini-games that you can play co-op, on top of the co-op fighting arcade mode. So there you have it you get a full fighting game with more on top of that… Great huh..
I rented this game because it has Final Fantasy people in it. And it’s fun to battle them but there’s not much more to this game. The graphics are standard, the sound could use some improving, the control is pretty bad and the overall game is mildly amusing.Graphics: 4.0Sound: 3.5Control: 3.0Fun Factor: 3.5
Game is in great condition but the booklet wasn’t with it … Kinda sucks because that’s part of the reminiscent part of buying ps1 games
Where can you possibly start with a game like this? Is it a fighting game? Is it a dungeon exploring RPG? Who cares, because the game is absolutely packed with amazing features!Obviously the main draw to the game is the fighting aspect. Ehrgeiz offers a good mix of fighters, each with their own pros and cons. One could argue that the Final Fantasy VII characters were thrown in simply as a money grabbing gimick from Squaresoft, but regardless they were a good choice and offered a fresh feeling in an otherwise recycled format. The fighting can have a slight learning curve, but once you get the rythm going it’s undeniably fun fighting against friends. Once you complete the story mode, they offer several incentives, in the form of hidden character unlocks, for replayability. Now the question arises, what do you do if you get bored of fighting? Well, just in case that happens they also included a "mini" game in the form of a dungeon crawling RPG! You play as two different characters, a man and a woman, whom you can control independently of one another as they quest below a small troubled town. This is an amazing addition to the game because they didn’t go half-assed on this included game at all. You find can find all sorts of weapons and armor, all of which change the appearance of your character; you can also manage an array of spells or special moves and on top of it all you have to make sure you keep your character well fed. You will easily spend as much, if not more, ti.
This truly is a marvel of fighter/rpg games. As mentioned, yes it is great for all of you fans out there for RPG games such as Final Fantasy, but the RPG side of this is great, too. One of the only things I didn’t like about it which soon grew on me was how you could always go back into an area and there would still be guys there you killed beforehand. That was because at the time I did not take into consideration how much experience to level up that gave :)However, the only other thing I didn’t like was how there wasn’t an available 2 player RPG mode for this. And yeah, that’s true, people overlooked this game all the time because it was not popular like “Tekken” or something of that nature, but so what? People only go for what’s popular, that’s disappointing. Quality is my main concern, and this game definitely gets my vote for quality. (Graphics not included, though this game was well for its time).~Graphics do not make a game good, storyline does.~
The title said it, this is a game that tried some new things while adding some familiar characters of the time. There are secret characters to unlock, combos to discover, and various 3D arena environments which either help or hurt you. It seems like it did inspire quite a bit of future games, so if you are looking for nostalgia than this is the game for you. If not, then you could probably pass.
Ah, the wonderful memories of the past are streaming back. I grew up on this game and when it had to be sold, I was crushed. However, now that I have a hold of it again, I’m all better :). This game is great for anyone who wants a fighting game that includes FF7 characters for the first time that I know of in the states. An A+ game!
I am surprised as to how much is packed into one game. You get the arcade fighting game with unlockables, assorted minigames (not as great on controls, but decent) and an rpg (quest mode) which is alot of fun and could even have been released as a stand alone rpg, maybe, at a budget price at the very least. In terms of visuals, graphics and framerate almost make this seem like a PS2 launch title. Music is also great. It is probably one of the few games that I would gladly put down the same amount of $ as it’s initial retail price from when it first came out over 2 decades ago, including so much content with some great aesthetics and a little fanservice (final fantasy) sprinkled on top.
loved it
