I love this! I have all of the other Wii Active games, and this one is my favorite. While you do still have to hold the remote from time to time, it’s almost hands free. The exercises are great for people like me who are not fitness junkies, but still want a good workout. Would (and have already) recommend this to others.
This program overall is very good. There are a few glitches in it where you can not get your character to move but overall it is much better than the previous version. The personal trainer really works you hard. One draw back is the delay between activities. Sometimes you really need it…but most of the time it is frustrating. I would recommend this program to anyone who really wants to get fit.
Love it IĆ¢ā¬ā¢ve been using the same unit for over 10 years still works great should make more like this
PROS: Variety of excercises, challenging workout, great tracking of calories burned, miles run, etc. and fun to do!CONS: Too much lag time between excercises, some of the upper arm excercises don’t read the sensor correctly, balance board looses contact with the WII several times during a workout. My adjustments to those glitches: Jog in place or skip while program is loading next activity, use weights and alter upper arm excercises slightly, opt out of using the WII balance board.I have used all of the EA Sports Active products extensively and this one is the best yet, because of the heart rate monitor. I would definitely recommend this product.
Bought this on super-special after reading the reviews, so I was ready for the main annoyances, like the software going on strike until you hit the A button on the remote or the power button on the balance board every few minutes. But this AM, almost at the end of a very vigorous workout, it stopped to say that the batteries were low on the balance board and I had to replace them. Now. No getting around the demand; had to turn off the wii (didn’t have time to find batteries and replace).I find the arm and leg detectors to be a great leap forward over the old legstrap/nunchuck/remote setup from the earlier EA Active versions. And I’m using the trainer-directed program and find it challenging and a good intro to exercises and activities I might not try on my own. But as someone else said, these glitches should have been fixed before the software came out.
I am a 21 year old college student and usually I would workout at the fitness center on campus or the fitness room at my apartment and get bored and stop a few days later. I bought my Wii exclusively for Just Dance 2, the MJ experience game, and working out. After reading a bunch of reviews on Wii fitness games I purchase this. I love how EA Sports Active 2 includes leg and arm sensors that track your movement, and I like the idea of the trainer and the variety of exercises. This is a very good way to exercise and stay motivated because let me tell you I look forward to exercise everyday. There is a lag in between the exercises as some of the reviews noted but hey take a sip of water during that pause. Some of my favorite activities on here include:-Running around the soccer/baskeball fields-Moutain Biking: Where you squat to gain sped them jump why cycling on a mountian-Moutain Boarding: Same as mountain biking but you are on a board-Soccer Goalkeepr : Where you lunge to the left , block, throw, lunge to the right repeat-Baskeball- Where you lung to the left , shoot, lunge to the right shoot-Step Aerobics-Skipping-Flutter Kicks*These are just a few of the many exercises that are included-Also you can create profiles for up to 5 peopleCons:-I wish it could have an additional arm sensor as well as an additional sensor for another person and I wish you could workout with someone live via online, it would be fun if I had competition-It would be nice if the music selection was be.
This was perfect. I would have rated it higher but i’m getting older and my knees feel stiff the next day after the workout. It is fun to use and the exercises are helpful.
The workouts are GREAT. If I had one complaint it would be that I am unable to connect to the EA website. The servers “are unavailable at this time”, no matter what time of day I try to create an account the servers are unavailable. That stinks because I was really looking forward to the online experience. Trust me that won’t stop me from the GREAT workouts!!!
I am on day 7 of the three week Cardio Kickoff program and have been impressed by the variety and intensity of the workouts. I was little worried about buying this game based on some of the negative comments, but my experience has been mostly positive thus far. There were a couple of instances where the game paused to indicate that there was no connection to the Wii remote when I wasn’t using it, and there seemed to be a sync issue with a couple of exercises (foot fires and alternating lunges) but this lasted for only seconds and has not been constant.I am using EA Sportics Active 2 to get back on track with my fitness goals. I’ve been struggling in the gym and not making any significant progress. The virtual trainer is helpful because it pushes me to work harder than I would on my own, and I have worked harder during 25 minutes of a virual trainer generated workout than I have in one hour on my own at the gym.My one complaint is regarding the resistance band. It just seems kind of flimsy, and there are times when I struggle to get adequate resistance for the exercise. But not even this minor criticism has dimmed my enthusiasm for working out with this game. I am already feeling results after just 5 workouts.
I love EA Sports Active2. It really is like having a personal trainer in your house!! I started the 9 week challenge, and lost 5 inches around my waist, hips, and thighs. I feel a lot stronger overall. The batteries that come with the game need to be replaced very quickly after their first use. Sometimes the sensor bar that comes standard with the Wii has some difficulty picking up the arm and leg bands, so you’ll have to play with your sensor placement a little or get a larger (wide angle) sensor bar for your Wii. Overall, I love this and recommend it to all of my friends!!
